Re: '18 Daiwa Ryoga
Love round reels so looking forward to the latest iteration of Ryoga. If only they made a 300 size with 5:1 for swimbaits I’d be happier.

Re: Who is going to ICAST?
I asked this question on the other thread but no reply. Amy chance they are allowing general admission one of these days?

Re: Shore fishing setups
One setup that provides some flexibility but I'm usually focused on one presentation so I try to keep it simple and minimal.

Re: ICAST---2016
Thought I read last year or before they allowed general public admission one day. Any chance that occurs this year?

Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
Fair enough but I wouldn't be casting the 175 on the same rod as the 250. Why I made my recommendation. You may not agree with that either. We may as well agree to disagree.SwimbaitsatLMV wrote:... except that you can't fish a 250 on a small reel, and you do in fact pull the bait with the reel.

Don't think it will work the 175?SwimbaitsatLMV wrote:Lol you must not fish a glide bait much.
Just buy a curado 300. It will alleviate all issues and doesn't need to be upgraded just to perform normally. Plus it's a shimano.

Re: Swimbait Line Brand You Use
One technique I discovered by accident where fluoro comes in handy is flipping a Hudd 68 on full slack line. Out one day casting and noticed a deep hole near shore I couldn't work any other way but flipping it. On the first drop on full slack I could feel bites but not expecting it I didn't set the ...

Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
If the Z2020 came in 5:1 that would be the ultimate light side setup for big baits. I've thrown the 9" 5oz Bull Shad with it without issue. Just not going to be fun with big resistance baits but might be fun with Depps since you're not using the reel to pull the bait.

Re: Trying Fluorocarbon
Sniper for moving baits and Shooter for bottom contact. I don't have problems with knots with either. Getting back to throwing Senkos to test new waters. Sounds like Shooter is the best option. Was going to go with Tatsu but I do find it's kind of stretching but feel the bites well. Fair to assume ...

Re: Swimbait Line Brand You Use
I've thrown 68s on Tatsu 15 and 25 with the 25 giving me more confidence in the knots I tie. Little extra cushion should that hook set be too brutal or the dreaded bird's nest occurred. I've done some flipping with those 68s in gin clear water in the afternoon and gotten bit so I don't think the bas...

No crazy about the 7.9-1. Reason I'd rather just do a convention.

Re: Swimbait rod recommendation
The recommendation of the 795ML is what I would recommend. However, two rods are better than one and you can then split that between fast and slow rods for jig hook style baits such as the stock Hudds and a slow rod for treble style baits. The 795ML is fast and the 806ML being slower would make a gr...
