Thanks, it is a great feeling indeed. The house luckily has a large basement, which is essential for every sportsfisherman. :big grin:

Re: Daiwa Luna 103 vs 203/253 + lure weight within versions

That's great, thanks for the picture and the info written in several comments! I want to get out there and try the 103, the "only" thing holding me back is that we recently bought a house that needs some tlc, hence no time for fishing just yet. :crying:

Re: Daiwa Luna 103 vs 203/253 + lure weight within versions

Thanks for the ABU reference, that gave a better perspective on the size of the Lunas. :big grin: I guess I'll have to rig a linecounter on my rod and try to spool the new braid on the Luna 103 to see how much it can hold. As for the weight of the lures used, I'm still not sure what to think.. norma...

Daiwa Luna 103 vs 203/253 + lure weight within versions

Hi! It's been more than a year since I last posted here, there were a lot of good inputs when I had some questions the last time I was here. Now there's a couple of other questions I hope to get input on: I just bought and recieved a Daiwa Luna 103 via eBay. I looked to this reel since it seemed to ...

Re: Maintenance on a vintage ABU 3000 - need assistance!

Make sure the clutch is in the up position when you put the side plate back on or its stays locked down :-k Thanks, both of you. I'm still not closer to finding out the problem here, but it looks like I have to take everything apart once again and do a spring count for starters. Four springs in the...

Maintenance on a vintage ABU 3000 - need assistance!

As a kid, my earliest memories of fishing is being with my dad in a boat and seeing his ABU reel in action. My dad used this reel for years, and never opened it, lubed it etc. One day, it jammed and he made a half-hearted effort to open it and get it fixed. Sadly, he never completed the job. The ree...

Re: Cross lock snap - which one for quality and strength?

Took a look at the Berkley cross-locks on eBay now; they look very simular to some which I've contacted the seller about, but not gotten a reply. Sadly no shipping to Norway from the seller found with the Berkley items, which is a pity since they are at a good price. Didn't find anything on the in-f...

Cross lock snap - which one for quality and strength?

Tried some slow jigging for spring pike today (no result), and after taking a look at the cross lock snaps I was using, I saw that I need something better for big fish. I'm interested in suggestions on strong cross lock snaps that won't open under pressure. What size is ok to use for pike jigging, a...
