Re: Survey Says? Question about TackleTour Articles....

I LOVE what you are doing. BUT... you asked... 1.The autopsies should be reserved for baits that have a magical quality or cult following, not a translucent topwater bait where we can clearly see the inner workings to begin with i.e. (Jackall Bowstick). Cut open Vision 110's and the likes. 2. MORE r...

Re: Most sensitive rod for wacky Senkos?

Thank you guys for all of the suggestions. To clear up some questions, I going to be using Seaguar Tatsu Fluorocarbon for this wacky rig. I do not know which pound test yet though. I figured fluorocarbon would be best since wacky rigs is basically a slack line technique. Is that correct? I will eit...

Re: Most sensitive rod for wacky Senkos?

The most sensitive rod I have is my St Croix Legend Extreme. I think the 6'8" med xfast would do nicely. St Croix makes this model in most of their lineup. I would disagree with this one. I wacky rig Senkos 99% of the time - I have used this rod - I think it is better suited to lighter plastics tha...

Powell vs. G.Loomis powers? HELP!

I am trying to match a Powell Endurance to a G.Loomis Mossyback (can't afford the Mossyback). I want a Powell Endurance BAD. If a G.Loomis Rod is rated Medium-Heavy ... is a Powell Medium-Heavy the same? Or do Powells run heavier in which case a G.Loomis MH is more like a Powell Medium. HELP ME PLEA...

G.Loomis is owned by Shimano Japan if that means anything to you. Not an American company anymore.

Best BAITCASTER braking system for weightless Senko.

OK - What reel/or braking system/manufacturer will give me the ABSOLUTE greatest distance throwing 5" unweighted Senkos. (No-spinning reel suggestions please). Imagine Casting Senkos is an Olympic sport, every country is throwing tons of money into research so athletes can cast these lures half a fo...

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty

I am right handed but got to reel with the left hand side which is much more comfortable since you have to use your stronger arm to control the rod. A lot of people on here feel this way... I am one of them. But you don't reall need to explain that you are fight handed but reel lefty... heres why.....

Berkley Nanofil for creek Smallmouth?

Let me preface my question with this... My PRIMARY and FAVORITE line for weightless finesse plastics has and will be P-Line Fluoroclear 8lb. BUT I have been fishing a new spot that is totally unlike my usual Largemouth flats. I have finally invested in a spinning setup to use in a shallow but wide s...

Re: New Senko "Magic" Colors

The colour that produced HUGE for me last weekend was one I hadn't seen before. Not sure of the code (at work now), but it was greem pumpkin w/ red flake, laminated with orange with orange flake. AWESOME colour. Nailed a bunch of big fish and nothing else worked, even if it had orange w/ orange fla...

Re: Match the Hatch

For sheer numbers - avoid the bluegill. Go with a minnow representation. I.E. a Yum Dinger / Senko. IF you are SURE Bluegills are getting hammered. Then Big Bite Baits Warmouth in Green Bluegill is VERY lifelike. Also check out the Jackall Clone Gill - less durable BUT the most accurate soft plastic...

Re: Best wacky worm for you? (Senkos aside)

Far and away YUM Dinger.
Watermelon R.F. (Clear water)
Smoke/Pearl Laminate (Shad Pattern)
Green Pumpkin Neon Flake (Off-color)
Thats it.
Sometimes I'll fill in with a Senko when I need a really strange or specific color...

Re: Do you think Pro's cares about Rod brands?

They do not. The reason amateurs spend the most money on equipment is easy to figure out - WE DON'T GET IT FOR FREE! It is a business deal. I am VERY skeptical that ANY big name professional would use non-sponsor gear. For three reasons... #1 Not worth getting caught #2 It would be like a golf pro p...
