Tenkara is the smart way for little streams, for bass you are limited to the distance achievable, but it should be very nice fishing with little bass.

I had the same on a Scorpion 1001 ( same chassis than 100D) replacing the main gear and pinion has solved the issue, but I think this is due to the lack of metal sideplate, so during use the grafite let the gear having some jokes and them will became noisy )
curado 100d has black main gear.

I think it coul be useful.

Use a very little of thermal glue ( like fuji tip or others than melt whit temperature) , just a very little quantity putted over the guide foot ,only what is needed to mantain in place the guide, then wrap it. you can adjust the guide if you want, only by heating the guide , the same that is usual ...
