Re: Hedgehog Air BFS Bearings
Thanks, I've oiled them and yes they still are noisy on casts. But it's good to know it's normal.

Hedgehog Air BFS Bearings
I've been using these bearings with my megabass IS BFS spool and they have been noisy on casts. Are these supposed to be noisy on casts or quite? I'm not used to it and am not sure if that's how they're supposed to be. Any help will be appreciated it, thanks.

Re: Steez SV w/ Megabass IS BFS Spool HH BFS Bearing
I would make the decision based on the amount of cover you throw into. For little to no cover I would go light, if it's a bit weedy I would choose ml. It's a trade off between ease of casting and controlling the fish after your hooked up. I would probably go ML if it's more of an all rounder with t...

Re: Steez SV w/ Megabass IS BFS Spool HH BFS Bearing
Hey guys so as some of you may have seen I've posted a WTB BFS rod in the classifieds. I've gotten a lot of nice rods brought up to my attention, but I think I finally know what I want to try to do with this set-up. I primarily would want to throw 1/16 crappie jigs, hair jigs, 3/16 - 1/4 small lures...

Re: Steez SV w/ Megabass IS BFS Spool HH BFS Bearing
Thanks for the input guys. I've yet to figure out what rod I'm going to get but I'm thinking about a 6'3-6'6 that can handle 3/8 oz. But not rated for 3/8oz. Because I fear it will have too much power when I want to throw 1/16 - 1/8 as well. The weight range I want to throw would be 1/16 - 1/4 , I w...

Steez SV w/ Megabass IS BFS Spool HH BFS Bearing
Hey Guys I just purchased this spool and am planning to throw it into my steez sv. I needed some insight on line type, # and etc. to have it work to its best potential. I currently do not have a rod for it yet, but I would love it if I could get some recommendations from the BFS pro's on this forum....

Re: Grease On Worm Shaft
Thanks for the Replies guys, I accidentally posted in the wrong section though, sorry Mod's. The worm shaft has always been pretty durable for me, I know for me personally the reason I chose to use oil instead of grease is because of it being thinner, which helps prevent debris from sticking onto th...

Grease On Worm Shaft
My Steez came with the Worm Shaft greased. I've never fished a baitcaster with a greased worm shaft, I've always stripped them down and applied oil. I've used the reel two time's it's perfectly smooth and casts great, but should I tear it down and remove the grease? Another question, I maybe thinkin...

Re: Steez Limited SV 103 TN
I went with the 103 because I cast the majority of the time and wanted the extra line cap. Not only that I do like how this reel looks, the paint job is nicer in person and it's done real clean and not poorly executed. Overall, this reel has exceeded my expectations thus far.

Re: Steez Limited SV 103 TN
I took the reel out to a local pond today and I was impressed. I came from fishing a steez 100sha with a 1016 spool upgrade and boy this steez sv spool impressed me. Like the 1016 it was effortless to cast, but this spool is special. Not only was it easier to cast, but it was able cast the booyah 3/...

Re: Help reel feels grindy
I swapped bearings and it still felt the same. Unfortunately I don't have a spare spool for this reel. Took the reel out yesterday and it performed fine. It just isn't that smooth anymore.JerryC wrote:The issue is with the spool or maybe side plate bearing?

Re: Help reel feels grindy
Going to take the reel out and see how it performs, I don't see anything wrong with it so I don't really know what to do anymore since there really aren't many spare parts.

Re: Help reel feels grindy
I was going to change all the bearings because I have extras, but was busy today. I'll try some more things tonight and update you all. Could it be the gears?? I cleaned them off and they look nice, no chips or marks of wear and tear.

Re: Help reel feels grindy
When I free spool it with the clutch bar down I can hear a little bit of noise, but when I reel that's when I can really hear it and feel it. I don't like to set my cast control on too high I always have it to where it has a little side to side play. But I've tried it loose and tight it still feels ...
