Re: Have top water rods changed?

I like using a 6'10" rod for most topwater applications. I fish walking baits tip down as well and this length works best for me. I could see using a 6'6" rod, but I think much shorter would sacrifice some casting distance, and much longer would certainly hit the surface I'm standing or the water.

Re: The Ugly Ducklings

As a fan of "street art" (grafitti, lol) I dig it. It takes some serious artistry to fit that on the side of a reel.

Re: How well does braided line cast on a baitcaster?

Which lb test should I get? I have a 10lb Spiderwire Fluorobraid which is scary thin, almost SHARP with its .0069in(.175mm) diameter and I can't believe people are actually using that thin a braid for baitcasting. Wouldn't any accidental backlash be a disaster? But then again, if I used heavier bra...

Re: No Shimano, No Daiwa

I can't speak for the newer abus or lews, but if I didn't have my shimanos, I'd probably have to go with first or second Gen revos. I already use an abu soron stx 20 for most of my spinning work, and the skeet Reese revo still has a huge following. I used to own a 2nd Gen premiere and an inshore, an...

Wow. You could've been taking pictures of bass pro baits and they still would've lpoked amazing. GrEat collection, but even better pics, man. Truly artistic.

Re: Shimano Crucial Rods

I looked into the 7'm crankbait rod a couple of days ago at the nearest shop that had them in stock (about an hour away), and I was glad I made the trip. Crankbaits are something I didn't use very much in the past, but I've been trying them more and more recently, with a great deal of success, and I...

Absolutely flawless, as always, savacs! Beautiful creations. I almost cringe at the thought of what the price would be were these for sale, with shipping to the states!

Re: best brick and mortar tackle shop

Mark's in B'ham is an awesome shop. I went there with my brother a couple of years ago to pick up an AR for him. It's amazing how they fit so much in that little store.
