Re: GLX 842c new model applications

First off, welcome to the forum. Have you tried fishing a weightless fluke with it? I have fished the old custom GLX 842 and it worked great. I could see a lighter, more sensitive rod being even better. One disclaimer, though-I use braid almost exclusively, sometimes with a leader, sometimes without.

Re: Cotton Cordell Wee Tiny CC Shad

I bought a few for $1.97 at Wal-Mart recently. They catch bass, bream and crappie(so far). The hooks bend easily, though, so set the drag very light.

Re: Gear tooth shapes

Lets just say all the teeth are cut to "mesh" well. I dont think the material has anything to with it, as much as say the manufacturer making the gears. Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if different materials required different angles, or shapes. I do know that the brass Sol main gea...

Re: It's Been a Minute

You have been holding out on us all along but I am glad you came to your senses! This stuff is all epic. The rareness, the condition, the thought that went into the pairings, the color coordination, etc! That Mr B. Fella...I tell ya he can build a rod or two like no ones business! I just may have o...

Re: Rewarpping a manufatured rod with spiral guides

I haven't gone spiral wrap yet, agree with Scooby that there is no need with the fishing we do. I have re-wrapped most of my NRX rods with SIC or Torzite though. Much smaller stripper guides and all single foot guides(stripper is double) and it makes the rods really come alive. Says the guy who has...

Re: Rewarpping a manufatured rod with spiral guides

I have had a few rods re-wrapped, most recently an older Abu salmon/steelhead rod that I caught my PB on. Only I had the entire rod stripped and rebuilt with modern components. Vinnie just built my first spiral-wrapped rod, an Immortal UL popping blank, with Fuji K Ti/SiC micro-guides, built for BFS...

Re: Which reel for my Helium 3, 7' heavy?

A great budget option would be the Tatula SV. It skips as well as any reel I have used. It does long-distance pretty well, too. The 7.3 gears have speed as well as adequate torque for chatterbaits. I have been hesitant of the Tatula SV, been buying higher end only. Got it in my head that the dual s...

I have had excellent results with the Spro Top Dawg. I have a few that are beat to pieces, ut they just keep catching fish.

Re: Is there a way to increase the braking force on the OG Steez?

Could be that the inner magnet ring is loose. Also, try using grease on the bearings, instead of oil. Packed grease will regulate spool speed, as well. Counter-intuitive, I know, but I did that on a 103 and reigned the reel in very well.

We surprised Arria, Brian and Kallie with an interview with Fox 5 Atlanta news, recorded last Thursday, which should air this coming Thursday on the morning news. We are in the home stretch now, so please continue to send kind thoughts and prayers our way, and consider a donation, if you're able. Th...
