The SV103XS gears are 7.9:1. Those should fit your requirement well.

My vote is for the Phenix Feather. I had the 7'1 ML casting rod and it was very sensitive. My only problem was that the reel seat irked me, so I reluctantly sold it(I dont like split reel seats). A picture is worth 1000 words.....6th pic down, thats a tatula ct spool in a split frame, palm half is the tat 100 and gear side is half tatula ct.

Use a dry q-tip and remove every bit of the oil you can, on every surface you can get to, including the brake blocks themselves. That thin oil migrates everywhere when centrifugal force from the spool's rotation forces it out. Clean all those surfaces until there doesnt appear to be any oil left at...

The reason I ask is the "goldish" one I just replaced was even kind of gold on the underside as well, maybe I just never noticed it before. All my replacements are shiny chrome with no gold tone... They look very close until you hold them up to each other... I have found that the gold-ton...
