Re: Tatula Hate vs newer shimanos

Doyo makes Quantum and Abu reels to the mfgr's specs. Doyo. They are their own manufacturer that makes many brands as you know of as Abu Garcia, Lews, BPS, Pflueger, and many other internal parts for other companies. I know who Doyo is and what they do, Banax as well. I can’t tell you about Quantum...

Re: Tatula Hate vs newer shimanos

I personally have not been impressed with anything Shimano or Daiwa in the "workhorse" range. Ive been more satisfied overall with Doyo products. Who’s designing for Doyo these days? Even with a lower serial number, no one will beat 69.

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

I hope no one took my earlier comments about Shimano rehashing their reels wrongly. I think the Curado 70 is a good reel, and the addition of the MGL spool and MM brass gearing should make a good reel even better. I'm not a Shimano guy, but they do make some solid reels. FWIW, I also harbor a secret...

Re: 88 Degrees

We had a little humidity with the 116 yesterday. A small front blew in about 3 p.m, I lived in Houston, and I have also spent plenty of time in the South in the summer, but 115+ tells the body to get the hell out of it immediately. Stepping outside is like stepping into your oven. It gives you a he...

Re: 88 Degrees

Our extreme humidity is what's dangerous here. For example, it was 93* yesterday. The heat index pushed the "real feel" to 107*. 90% humidity won't allow sweat to evaporate at all, so the sweat just runs down and soaks your clothing. You literally look like you've been swimming while fully clothed b...

Re: Over 40 with a child Under 6 Months

That thought would take all the fun out of it for me. Besides, I think I that ship has sailed for us. We are both 46, and she is going thru the change. I often wake to freezing my butt off because she kicked all the covers in the floor.

Re: Plastic broken piece inside SV Spool

So far the spool still works fine. Somehow there is enough resistance to the base turning that the Air Brake still functions even with both pins sheared off. I'll have to price a replacement spool. That way I can can fix the stock one and also do a Ray's inductor mod to it. One for skipping and ano...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

True, don't remember so many people hating on a reel as much as they did Caenan/Curado G. Bet Shimano wishes they could take that one back Am I the only one that loved the Curado G? I've got a 105mm handle on it, egg Eva knobs, PG gears and just adore it... You got lucky. I had 6 nib reels that cam...

Re: Millionaire CT and Alphas CT

I'm interested as well. I would imagine that they do because I know the CVZs and pixy/alphas can swap several parts. I'm waiting on that Millionaire to go down in price. ](*,) Dave is correct. The guts are indeed the same. Daiwa took 2 of their proven platforms and re-introduced them as CT reels wi...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

So if they re-release the Curado I with MM gears as the 2021 Curado K, you will be ok with that? They did the exact same thing several times in the past. The Curado 100B was re-released as the Curado 100D and Citica 100D. The Curado 50E was re-released as a Chronarch 50E. The Curado 200 E became th...

The KVD baitcaster has aluminum gears.
Not a fan of that.
I'll take Doyos aluminum gears over Shimanos brass or aluminum any day.
LOL!!!
