Re: Issues with Tackle Warehouse

Speaking of TW didn't want to start a new thread... I've been steadily building a wish list and was planning on buy it during their next sale. Looks like labor day may be the day. I noticed several of the items are normally exempt. I was wondering if you call will they apply the discount to the ent...

Re: Shimano Metanium mgl Brass Gears

Have any of you guys noticed the brass gears going rough a while after the swap? I did the swap maybe four months ago and they’ve already gone out Did u replace the pinion gear, too, or re-use the original Metanium pinion? I know from personal experience-you ALWAYS replace gears as a set. I learned...

Thanks! Couldn't have done it without you. :big grin:
That's the way that reel should have come.

Awesome, but why the hell can't they throw casting seats and guides on some for a change? :x

Re: New Tatula Elite Reel

I've had every almost every version of the Tatula and have never had any of them make any type of clunk, thunk or any other noise. I had a Fuego CT that had a little in and out play in the handle, but it only moved or made a noise when I purposefully pulled out on it.

Re: 105 SV vs 103 SV spool

Would putting a 103 SV spool into a Steez LTD SV 105XH 8.1 be defeating the purpose of the reel? I'm damn near spooling the reel with 22lb Defier Armillo and an Evergreen Justine 95. I really don't want to bring one reel for a Justine 95 or One's Bug and another outfit just for the 115 size baits. ...

Re: Dobyns xtasy or kistler zbone

I've heard a couple of disappointed opinions on the sensitivity of the Xtasy series. Never heard anything but praise for the zbone.

Re: Coastal SV Review

With an x-acto knife, you can remove that part from the stock bushing. I've done it successfully a couple of times.

^^^^U gotta pay to play! ^^^ I guess so. I'm glad you guys can and do buy this stuff, and post about it. Otherwise I would never even hear about it. You got me all wrong! It killed me to pay $500 for a Steez CT. I like to read about this uber-expensive gear just like you lol! And it killed me...

Re: Rod Geeks?

Yes, they sandbag on their ratings. It's an old marketing trick to minimize warranty claims. St. Croix rods have always been more powerful than their factory ratings.

Re: What buzz toad setup(s) are you running?

Seems light to me. 8-10lb test is just asking for heart break Tht depends if you're in Ohio or Florida. 6-7# is likely the biggest fish you will see up North, but 50# braid is must around slop like dollar pads, hydrilla and cattails. Of course, the hookset ability with a M power rod and 10# line is...
