Re: SV Light Limited

The spool on the SS Light is 32mm(not sure if that's already been answered). If you want to go the other way, making the reel MORE of a BFS reel, Aliexpress has a shallower Ray's Studio spool available. That spool also fits the SS Air and Alphas Air. Is there any other options for 32 mm spool? I bo...

Anything 5/16 oz or better and that spool is fine. It will bomb a Vision 110.

I like the Zoom C-Tail worm, either nose-hooked or wacky rigged.

Re: Question about my latest Ultra Light rod

Yes, that does indicate a glass rod, which will be a little noodly in an UL-powered rod, likely a parabolic action. It should be a lot of fun with small cranks and spinners.

Re: Supertuning/Modifying your reels...

I used to put upgrded bearings in all my reels, then I got to the point that I didnt think the slight gains were worth the extra coin. I like to dress up my reels cosmetically now, just to make them unique and to stand out fom the crowd, so to speak. Carbontex is a must on older Daiwa reels and most...

Re: Curado e Revision series info

Btw, I was referring to the "rev 1" and "rev 2" in the sideplates when I suggested that it might be for warranty purposes. Just a thought, though its not likely. Like a "production date" cutoff? Yep, kind of an indicator of the age of the reel, since almost nothing changed except the material for t...

Re: Curado e Revision series info

Could it be to differentiate the age of the reels, for warranty determination?

Save yourself some time, angst, and in the long run, money... and just go for the reel you're drooling over now. ;)
Agreed, you will likely end up buying it later, even if you dont right now.

Re: Securing braid to the rod?

I put the lure on the hanger, tighten up any slack, then grab the line mid-way of the guides and wrap it around the blank, letting one guide be the "anchor" that the line holds onto.

It fades like all braids, though it doesnt seem to lose all the color. It just goes a couple shades lighter.

Re: Power Pro Super 8 Slick V2

I have it on a couple of reels and they seem to have addressed my one criticism of the 1st gen line. That is that the line tends to fuzz out after some use. It didnt seem to affect the performance or the strength of the line, so maybe Im just being picky. The V2 is better about this, as it has a tig...

Congrats on the new gears! I use Tinypic and it works fine, just have to deal with the occasional pop-up ad.
