Re: ICAST 2019

I know Daiwa has multiple new models to debut. I'm excited to see them and try them out. Yes indeed. I've fished quite a few of the new introductions, good stuff coming for sure from our Daiwa friends =D> New things?...do you know if Daiwa will be bringing out a new line of Zillion Rods to accompan...

Re: TD-Z spools

I have a Steez 100h spool in a TDZ 103 and it's very nice but the R+ spool in my other TDZ 103 is my favorite caster. Yep, I love my TDZ with the Steez 103 R+ spool, too. The type R spool gives better distance than the stock TDZ spool, but the R+ spool is even better. I picked up a Type R+ spool fo...

We will never have an OEM build reels for us. We have two factories for reels and we like to utilize them given the significant investments that have been made.
Hey Dan, I sure wish other mfgr's felt the same way. ](*,)

Re: Tatula CT gear, interchangeable with larger/OG tatula and similar bodies

Look at the various reel schematics. Daiwa labels the part # the same, regardless of model. If the numbers match, they should interchange. Its possible that you just got a shoddy gear set from the factory. It does happen, as I have replaced a couple of brand-new gear sets, one on a Tatula SV XS. I h...

Re: Fishing fingers

Anyone get line cuts from pulling out snags? Never fails I get them at the joints of my fingers and they stay there for weeks on end. It only took me once to learn, never pull a snag without thick gloves on. I use braid almost exclusively, and it hurts big-time when it cuts you, because it burns yo...

Re: Fishing fingers

I've done that, and worse. I've actually had my thumb get so rough that it would crack open and bleed from lipping so many fish. OOOH Tim the master angler catches too many fish :-({|= ....... . . . . Nope, I sometimes go home with a skunk, but not often. Its just that down here in the ponds ...

The SS Air spool is the shallowest of the the 3, then the Alphas, then the SV Light Limited.

Re: Square Bill

hoohoo - Thanks man! That Crul looks like it may be the ticket. CRS doesn’t look bad either. Do you replace the treble hooks or just fish it straight out of the box? Any special retrieve with it? I vary the retrieve. Sometimes, they want it burned, other times, just a slow steady retrieve works fin...

Re: Square Bill

Academy H2O cranks are great. The CRUL is a small squarebill that casts well. I use them quite a bit and they work for bass and crappie... even big bluegills will whack them.

Re: Looking for small casting reel suggestions

I can't speak for longevity, but I had a Lew's LFS for a little while that I got in a bulk buy. It was a competent caster and seemed very solid for the month or so that I used it before selling it off locally. For the $75 or so that you can get it on that auction site, I think its actually a pretty ...

Re: SV Light Limited

The spool on the SS Light is 32mm(not sure if that's already been answered). If you want to go the other way, making the reel MORE of a BFS reel, Aliexpress has a shallower Ray's Studio spool available. That spool also fits the SS Air and Alphas Air. Is there any other options for 32 mm spool? I bo...
