Re: Alternatives to my rod

This Rainshadow blank is a great candidate for not a lot of money. You can have the builder butt-cut it if you want it shorter, like your current rod. I can put you in touch with a builder who does good work for very reasonable rates. https://www.getbitoutdoors.com/catalog/product/view/id/2315/s/rai...

HH Purple Parts

Anyone know for certain if the royal purple or deep purple is closest to Daiwa's purple? Specifically, the Steez CT XH.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Re: Daiwa T3 ballistic question

A small rat tail file is what you need. Ive done it so many times that my little file stays in my parts box with my other tools.

Personal comments have no place in forums like this.
Neither do abrasive personalities, purposefully provoking arguments.

Re: keitech 2.8 rigging

I use that size Kietech on the Zman Shroomz head, the ones made for their TRD worms (flanders/ned rig). The 1/10 oz heads plus 2.8 Swing Impact is perfect with my BFS setups. Do you find the hooks in the Ashton jig heads to rust easily? I have noticed a little rust on the hook, right where it comes...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

The original Champion series rods did use Lamiglas blanks. But they cheaped out and went to a Chinese OEM Chinese maunufacturer 3 or 4 yrs after that. The original Extreme series were not Lamiglas blanks and had a high failure rate, iirc.

Re: The Power in IKE, Abu Garcia & Mike Iaconelli's MIKEC76-6

I was referring to the rods being made in China, since the review was for the rod and the question was specifically about the rod. I think you're right regarding the Revo reels, though. They have always been made by Doyo/Korea.

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

The Helium 3 is as sensitive as anything out there, NRX included.....and they dont have those stupid Recoil guides like the NRX has. I would take one H3 over any 2 NRX you offered to give me. Poor build quality, countless reel seat failures, ugly cosmetics and split reel seats (a personal dislike). ...

Any idea where these rods are made and who makes them?

Infinitely curious here...
Made in China, like almost everything else from Pure Fishing.

Re: Are we destroying our Gear Sets by pulling out snag?

I always pull those snags loose with a gloved hand and the line wrapped around that hand. If you lock down the drag with 50-65# braid on a reel with aluminum gears and haul in a stump, you pretty much deserve a damaged gear set imho.

Re: Alphas CT 70 in stock at Digitaka!

So, you both having both reels, which reel would you recommend me? I think the alphas is better bang for the buck but by fishing the steez you can see why its the flagship reel. It is a work of art and you will pay to have all the goodies.. In tt fashion i say get both as Tim so eloquenty...
