Re: TackleTour Exclusive: On the Water with the New G.Loomis Conquest Rod Series

Sometimes I think less is more and I think that NRX was and still is the sensitivity king, I think the added spiral wraps may be good on a stick with twisting issues, but not needed on the NRX, if anything it'll most likely take away that amazing lively action. They (Shimano) needed to come up with ...

Re: A Nylon Mono for Enthusiasts? Shooter Defier Armilo

I use it fishing inshore and it competes favorably to Andes premium mono and PL in the 11 to 15# class. A lot less stretch silky smooth and excellent knot strength. My new favorite.

Re: How do I fix my loose spool bearing?

Bearings are relatively inexpensive it’s not worth your time or trouble to attempt fixing one unless that’s what you like to do of course. You have many options replacing or upgrading that bearing or the pair of spool bearings which are critical in the performance of your reel. Spend just a few doll...

Re: Conquest parts and repair

There’s many folks here on this board whom would be more than happy in helping you maintain your Conquest, take e-bassfisher for an example. His knowledge and experience are second to none, he would have no issues getting any parts needed plus he’s a tuning guru. Shoot Ian a pm with any questions or...

Re: Zillion Issue.

Always replace the gears in sets another words main gear and pinion should be replaced together. On the other hand sending it to Ian is absolutely the best thing you can do, he's a master craftsman if anyone can get it working right he can!

Re: Any new reel possibilities?

Interesting Lon...so VASTLY "better" than any of the last gen Millionaire/Monoblock and Pluton/Ryoga/Lin platforms? For me, the most "rugged" and "tough" FW sized 200-400 RR in my hands, is still the 3600 - 6600 sized Morrum Ms from Abu. The last gen Millionaire platfo...

Re: Any new reel possibilities?

Daiwa round reels have lost their market shares to Shimano and with the newest 2014 CQ 100/101 & 200/201 model reels having been released just put the last nails in the daiwa round reels coffin. Shimano's latest Conquest series are the new king of the mountain, long live the king. I love the new...

Re: Gritty drag on a Chronarch 201e7

The drag washer should most likely be replaced. I would recommend using carbontex as a replacement upgrade which can be left dry or greased. My experience using carbontex is ultra smooth drag at all drag settings and they are extremely cheap, under $10 for most drag washer sets. http://smoothdrag.co...

Re: What a Concept! 13 Fishing's Concept-A Reel

I read on another post that the Concept A has single bearing knobs if this is true wouldn’t that change the Feature ratings slightly from 7.14 to 6.42 by adjusting the knob bearings rating of 3 to 2 and the total from 10 to 9. This would only drop the final rating from 7.95 to 7.84 (7.836).

Excellent preview, it looks like Shimano took the wind out of the sails on the Tatula from Daiwa. Daiwa serves and Shimano returns!
