Re: Most specific chatterbait rod
I'm using a KLX Feel N Reel 7'3" Heavy. This thing has boatloads of power and and incredible tip. I feel it's the perfect 1/2 oz chatterbaits rod for me. If I was fishing less grass and cover or fishing the 3/8 chatterbaits I'd use the medium heavy. Thank you for your answer Sir, Do you know how mu...

Re: Baitcaster Braid Weight?
Smaller diameter braid should cast farther but I still haven't figured out if it's diameter or weave that is the main culprit in line digging in. I use 30lb braid for topwaters like spooks and shower blows and had really good luck with Sufix 832 but I thought I'd try J-Braid. Terrible decision! That...

Re: Deep Cranking/Big Bait Combos
Back in the day, my old 5501 cranked in a ton of fish. Your Abu looks like a Raptor compared to my old beater
Great looking combo!

Re: Wart style baits
The Curve baits have gorgeous paint jobs available- absolutely love some of their colors, BUT the bait is way too buoyant. Even with a 2X No.2 on the front hanger, the bait pops up way too quickly. The Luck E Strike wart is a cheap bait that just needs new hooks. It hunts and comes in some good colo...

Re: Strike King Thunder Cricket
They licensed its use from Z Man. Basically they are paying Z Man to copy the Jackhammer and offer it for a couple bucks less.

Re: Phenix Rods Hydra 8 Strand Braided Line Green
I used 30lb last fall on my chatterbait rod and really liked it. Casts well, doesn't dig in too bad and seems to be a pretty tight, round weave.

Re: Ardent Outdoors sale?
They are an OEM reel from China's Haibo company. Probably an artificially high MSRP with a big percent off to increase sales.
They may or may not be a decent reel but I bet you could get them cheaper off Aliexpress or ebay under the Haibo name.

Re: '19 Scorpion MGL 150
If this is a Curado K with an MGL spool, I'd have to think it's going to be a winner. Does anyone know any other specs about it yet? Yes... this is essentially the Curado K with an MGL spool painted in the traditional Scorpion reel color... should be a winner \:D/ I wouldnt say "traditional", more ...

I have a Kistler Helium 3, 7' ML that I really enjoy fishing with. The NFC blank is a beautiful and sensitive piece of graphite. Probably get one for a little over $200 right now.

Anything would be an improvement over the handles on my previous gen. Tatula rods.
I'm eager to handle one in person.

I've never used one, but the Bill Lewis Stutterstep is supposed to kind of wag on a straight retrieve.

Re: TW/Daiwa chatterbait rod
Yea, I have the 7'2"MH glass Tat also, along with the 7'7"M-G. They are noticeably heavier than my Seeker & Lamiglas glass rods, but I do like their actions. I'm thinking the full grip would balance the TW rod better, but I'd hate to buy one and find out out it weighs 6.5- 7oz.

TW/Daiwa chatterbait rod
Does anyone own the TW chatterbait rod? Curious as to your thoughts on it. Is it stupid/cumbersome heavy in weight? I'm actually looking at it for Ploppers. Currently I'm using an old, wore out 7'2" MH Seeker S-Glass along with braid, but unfortunately the finish has come off a 1/3 of the rod and I ...
