Re: Anyone got an SLX XT coming?

If it's geary that quick, something is not right. Mine is smooth , the anti reverse bearing was squeaky right out of the box. A little grease fixed that , I also greased the gears and added carbontex washers , that made a huge difference in drag pressure. Funny you mentioned the chronarch mgl getti...

Would these new reels be considered "better" than the tatula sv or just different?
Better imo. Aluminum gear-side plate, lighter spool with more line capacity than the SV. It is also smaller and more comfortable to palm.
I'd also say better for the same reasons.

Re: Anyone got an SLX XT coming?

I have the XT , it cast just as good as my curado 70. So what would be the benefits of buying a Curado 70 today? Better aesthetics? I still don't understand the benefits of smaller spools for various applications so if that's the only other benefit I'd love to know more about when smaller spools ar...

Re: Shimano Aldebaran Purchase

Digitaka is good but if I was ordering that many you might get a better deal at Japan Lure Shop and you will get a few free lures as well I just checked , japan lure shop is $17 more for the Aldebaran 50. Yeah, but for that $17 extra, you will likely get a $20 lure with the order. I always did when...

Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.

Actions are about they same. The musky rod will have more power. Legend Tournament Musky LM86MHF Long Ranger is the ones they use. You can get a similar blank in the Mojo musky line up. Before I bought the 8'6 vexan , I fished a St croix Avid 8' heavy inshore. It is a great rod , snook , reds , tarp...

Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.

I'd be looking at the st croix musky rods , that's what a lot of guys use for throwing flairhawks and swimbaits for snook down here in Florida. I use a Vexan Inshore 8'6 1-4 oz spinning rod , with a Spheros sw 6000.

Re: Need new casting reel within a month, what to do?

Well I was in the neighborhood of Cabela's today so I went in and looked at the Chronarch MGL. Walked out with a 151XG. Got it spooled up with 40lb Super8SlickV2 and my oh my is it an uneven spooling, big hump in the middle. I used 10lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid for backing and it kept slipping on the spool i...

Re: Shimano Stradic 19

I don't know why they ever took it off the market to begin with. It's a aluminum bodied Nasci.
