Re: Custom Chronarch 101B
Thanks for all the comments guys. Hoping to start my next one soon. This one is up for sale by the way, not sure if I'm allowed to mention that here, but too late. I am looking to do another chronarch, possibly a D-series to match the NRX. I am pshyced to try that out!

Re: Custom Chronarch 101B
I was wanting to get a few of the curados that are on sale. or maybe a new chronarch. I may start doing this part time, I work in a body shop. My next is going to be another Shimano with a Shimano blue and white theme. A Chronarch painted as a perfect match for the NRX rods would be sweet too!

Re: Custom Chronarch 101B
I was actually thinking about selling it. If I don't, was going to put it on a G. Loomis spinnerbait model rod. They have almost the same red hue. That would look sweet me thinks! I did get the new frame guards yesterday, looks really brand new now!

Re: Custom Chronarch 101B
I was in a hurry when I posted this, here is some info. It is a CH101B with a custom color 2-stage paint job. Fully disassembled and reassembled with thorough cleaning. The frame plate "Chronarch" emblem is new and have two new frame guards are on there way, back ordered for three weeks! The old one...

Re: New Curado rumors.
I think the black and white scheme is nice. I really wouldn't care if it was pink, as long as they give us lefties all the gearing options...no, pink would be a bad idea! Thanks for the sneak peak guys, great looking reel.

Re: Small Baitcaster (easy to palm)
You might look into the new Lew's reels, they're quite small and well built. They offer righties of course and some lefties.

Re: Painting reels
I would say 3 parts paint to 2 parts thinner for Gloss paint, and 3 parts paint to 1 part thinner for Flat paint. I would recommend using a flat color coat and follow it up with a few coats of hardened clear. It is much more durable. This is typically refered to as a 2-stage paint job. Remember to h...

Re: Painting reels
I would recommend using automotive paint because it has the best durability. However sometimes it is hard to get auto paint in such small quantities. I would do this; Alot of body shops have a crap load of premixed paint laying around, and most of the time they haven't put hardening catalyst in it. ...

Re: Which is your favorite rod company?
I love the few G-Loomis rods I have. They are just so light and sensitive, and each action is exactly what it says. I have 3 Shimano Crucials and one Kistler Magnesium and these are also fantastic. I VOTE G-LOOMIS thou!

Re: Is it Daiwa, Shimano, or someone else?
Shimano all the way...that is unless they don't offer more lefty variants. Might have to buy an Abu Garcia or two.
I used Abu in the past, great reels. I VOTE SHIMANO though. Classy, Durable, and Reliable!

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty
I am right hand dominate but use left hand retrieve reels exclusively. I have for about 15 years. It just plain makes sense! I hope Shimano comes out with a low speed lefty reel this year. I appreciate TT's support for lefties!

Re: Shimano Core Question
The Core 50 is an extremely robust reel, no doubt about that. My only concern for you is the balance and if you plan on using it for light baits. That rod has a great deal of stiffness. If you are using it for "power fishing" then it will absolutely help. Just wouldn't want a fellow angler getting a...

Re: Shimano Core Question
I think your biggest issue would be the fact that the Core 50 is designed for a light tackle affair. The reel is extremely light and with the 7'2' Cumara, although the cumara is light, I think you would have a considerably unbalanced combo. Line capacity is as you mentioned, very limited. This reel ...
