Re: Powell Endurance rods

There's just a lot more variety available today than there was...what...6 years ago when the Endurance line was introduced?

Re: Dobyns Champion Extreme HP 703C

I don't have the 702 because it's more of a finesse oriented stick, but I do have the 742 and it's not under powered at all for those lighter jigs and shaky heads.

I definitely fish one power more with Dobyns because I fish the CA Delta.

Re: Dobyns Champion Extreme HP 703C

I've never actually fished an Ika, but I've had no issue pitching a T-rig with a 3/16 oz weight.

Re: Dobyns Champion Extreme HP 703C

It's a great senko and spinnerbait rod. Perfect length for pitching into tight spaces and loads up really well with 3/8 oz spinnerbaits. I also like using it for heavier dropshots using 12# fluorocarbon and a 1/4 oz weight.

Re: Daiwa big bait handle

If it's brand new, they go for $50 or so and you could easily get $35-40 for it. You should try using it. I have them on my SV reels and they feel great.

Re: Braid That Keeps Its Color

Daiwa Samurai Braid stays green...the first few uses you're going to have green hands, but once that initial break in occurs, then you don't have that issue and the line stays green. I've had the same Daiwa Samurai Braid on my reels for the last 6 or 7 years and it's still green and performs flawles...

Re: Champion Extreme 745HP

I don't have the HP, but I am disappointed in the sensitivity of the original...I still have it, but I'm on the search for something to replace it. I'm thinking going with either Kistler or St. Croix.

Re: It’s 2018, why are you buying reels from the past

Because I know what really works well for me. I keep trying the newer reels...I'll buy into the hype, find out I don't like it, then keep searching for older reels.

Re: Knobs

I don't know if it's just from years of use, but the Shimano's over sized septon knobs are my favorite. Those Daiwa tatula style knobs are hideous...but they're right...they're super comfortable to use. I enjoy the EVA knobs on the Daiwa 100mm handles...but boy do I hate the Abu EVA knobs...so awful.

Re: Chronarch 50E or Curado K?

Sorry but but as I have stated before the additional braking adjustment option on the newer Shimano reels is a joke IMHO. To me there's absolutely no need unless you are new to baitcasting or can't utilize the ole' thumb l. Tension knob and one block maybe two on my Manoz is all I need. In addition...

Re: Zillion Type R to Zillion TWS

for those applications, don't even bother friend. especially so since you'll be replacing good reels with good reels hahaha. i honestly don't think there's enough improvement to really warrant to switch. unless you just want something new (and i'm not knocking this either cause if i just wanted some...
