Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s

Have small hands as well, and i would agree on that statement. To each their own of course, but i personally find the og steez to be much comfier to palm than the newer steel. THe older steez fits in my palm like an egg. I agree, the OG Steez was still more comfortable to palm. The 17 Steez TW SV i...

Re: Deep cranking rod

Seems like a little too much rod for what I'm looking to do, but I'd definitely be interested in hearing how it works out for you next month. What baits do you plan to throw with it? I'll be using it with Deps DC300 up to O.S.P Blitz Magnum EX-DR plus 1oz to 2oz Spinnerbaits. It is paired with a St...

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s

Frame size between the two are the same. The HLC gets the hole milled out bigger. The Steez TW reels are all native 36mm frames but only the HLC made use of the 36mmn available diameter. I thought the same but having both the Steez A TW HLC and the Steez TW SV, I can tell that they are not the same...

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s

The 2016 steez platform is super outdated, and Daiwa has been milking it as much as possible. Should have tested a zillion 2021 instead of wasting money on any steez. What makes it outdated? While it is true that the current Steez and Zillion models are based on a frame design that originates from ...

Re: Deep cranking rod

What rods are you guys deep cranking with? I'm looking to pick up a rod for deep cranking this summer/fall that will handle baits in the 3/4-1.25 oz range like the DD22, Deep-Six, Little John DD, and the Duo G87 20A. Not interested in throwing any of the larger hard pulling magnum cranks so I don't...

Re: Daiwa IMZ HD introduced

This is like a beta stage reel. I am certain that in the near future they will make one of these without the need of charging the battery or connecting it to a phone. Not about to pay over 1k for a beta reel. But i do hope that its well received and is not yet another T3. These kind of brakes are a...

Re: Lew's Has Come Out With An Actual BFS Baitcast Reel

Saw it on TW, looks promising but...EXPENSIVE. More than the Curado BFS. Not sure the frame material, I rather guess it's a composite or graphite something or other. It's not the shallow spool skipping/pitching baitcast that came out last year. It also has centrifugal braking. I'd rather spend a fe...

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s

After owning Abu, Quantum, Shimano, BPS and Daiwa, I ended up with Daiwa. For me they have over-all better quality and better constructions design. The latest iteration of the Zillion might contradict the better construction design idea, considering the outrageous amount of screws used. Nevertheless...

Re: Solid tip for small jerkbaits?

Maybe? When I think solid tip rods I think of drop shot rods but if you like an XF for a jerkbait rod then solid tip rods are pretty fast. I would get one that has the solid tip rolled into the carbon cloth rather than a solid tip grafted on. Those will act like foreign object jammed into the end o...

I wonder how well these grips work with the new T-wing design from Daiwa????
