Re: Daiwa Steez Werewolf
I have the old one too it is designed as a jig rod. Sensitive is the best I have fished and it is the best rod for 5~10gram jigs ever! Great bottom contact rod, which it is still versatile enough to fish some treble lures

Re: Minimum parts needed to tune an Abu 1500c to be BFS?
All 4 of mine are easier to cast and do cast further than my Conquest BFS and Millionaire CT, even with the factory centrifugal brake. That is interesting. From my previous experience those old school reels with non-disenganged levelwind are not very good reel for bfs as the mechanism itself added ...

Re: J-Dream spool?
Thanks Kakaryan...you're probably right about defeating the purpose of fishing an OG Zillion. I guess I don't fish a ton of heavier baits and have had trouble casting some lighter stuff with the IP68...maybe I'll just relocate the IP to my small swimbait rod...thanks! Not sure how "lighter" you wan...

What weight range does the M spool cast? I guess from 5g up?MountainMan 83 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 5:46 amA while back, I played around with spools in my CVZ and found the ZPI NRC M spool to be the best combo of distance and control.

Re: J-Dream spool?
Tackle Trap stocks something called Precision Aluminum Spaces for that will fit the MB IP series and allowing for use of 34mm spools...I'd love to try a different spool with this reel...once installed, does anyone know which 34mm spools will and won't work in the IP68? What to look out for? Thanks!...

Re: J-Dream spool?
Resurrecting an older thread .... I recently noticed the rotor position on both the J Dream and HLC spool appear to be similar. As such, would installing a stiff HLC spring on the J Dream spool result in the same/similar performance as the HLC spool? No. From what I remember the I'ze HLC rotor sits...

Best spool for Millionaire (the 103, 34mm platform)
I used to fish my Millionaires a lot back then (I'ze Light, Ringa SSS, Monoblock...) before I converted to DCs which outcast them. When I still do fish them I loved the following spools and found them to be best for the following weight classes: IS finesse for baitfinesse, SV105 for finesse to gener...

Re: Your opinion about the Z2020 in 2023.
I have like ~30 baitcasters and the Z2020 is never one of my favourite since day one. Not mentioning the size or weight, but the spool is heavy and slow, which doesn't cast as good and far as it was claimed. Almost retire it now and haven't fished it for years. If I am going to buy a baitcaster in 2...

Re: Magnesium vs aluminum frames on similar reels and rigidity
Honestly how rigid you need a reel to be for fishing those damn it large mouth bass?
Take good care of your gears (ie. don't drop it on the ground) they will be fine.

Re: Tulala Monstruo 71
What I don't like their rods (and so do Huerco) is the ugly locknut that exposes the screw thread. Though, with the handle part detachable (no guides above) it can easily be replaced with some better looking parts.

Re: 23 Daiwa steez a gen 2
In 2016 Daiwa renewed the Steez TW while Shimano renewed the Antares DC. Daiwa released some variants of the same platform, while Shimano did that too, the Excense DC and Antares MD DC. In 2021 Shimano again renewed the Antares DC, with completely new frame, body, spool, etc.... In 2023 Shimano rene...

Re: Daiwa SS Air TW
Looks like Shimano FTB  The Gekka TW was a disappointment which 28mm spool is too small and couldn't cast far enough. Hopefully this is better but I am not too positive for its again 28mm spool. I do not like some BFS freaks who claimed to need to cast 1gram or 0.1gram. 2~3gram being the ...
