Re: How long can a bass live out of the water???

Often appalled I am on the way some folks disrespect life, often to point of anger if I'm being totally honest. i am like you. in fact, i started watching a youtube video of joe thomas fishing lake picachos in mexico and got so angry watching him that i couldn't even finish the video. it truly was ...

Re: hook keepers

just wanted to provide an update on the daiwa keepers. the rubber rings ALL broke off months ago and i lost a few keepers without even knowing about it. very unhappy that :x the few that i had left, i ended up clipping off the tabs on both sides and securing them to my rods with a black zip tie. les...

Re: ICast preview, look at new GLX

after viewing the video at TW on the new GLXs, i take back my criticism on the fade paint process. that first picture and the description make it seem like only the exposed portion of the blank behind the grip had that fade-paint process. it actually extends up past the front of the grip by half a f...

http://www.bassmaster.com/sites/default/files/styles/photo_gallery_images/public/galleries/2016/07/66-loomis-glx.jpg a "fade paint process within the butt section"? i dunno about that or the carbon fiber band on the rear grip or the blue accent stripes. looks like one person designed the rod from t...

Re: Rod Weights

i now have two new NRX 872S JWR spinning rods, one blue and one green. here are my test results using the same scale: green: 107.2 grams (3.78 ounces) blue: 105.6 grams (3.72 ounces) and, just for kicks, the g.loomis label with the price on it that they wrap around the handle, it weighs 0.4 grams :l...

Re: Trying to not hate spinning gear...what NRX to buy?

As someone who fishes primarily light baits that lend themselves to spinning, I've tried BFS and like it, but as soon a pick up my spinning rod, I immediately think what the hell was I doing. For some presentations spinning just works better. exactly! i started down the BFS path because of my disda...

i don't like the NRX 852S for dropshotting either. i mean, it works okay but the NRX 822S is much better at it.

TW's redesigned website

so, am i the only one that visits the tacklewarehouse website everyday? anyway, people have been clamoring for their shopping cart to not to empty itself after a couple of days; TW always says "we're working on it". with their new website design, i wonder if they've actually done something abo...

Re: Diawa Tatula Spinning Rods

interesting. i've had three tatula spinning rods (two of the 6'11" ML/XF and a 7'2" MH/XF) and the reel seats were all tight on mine...in fact, too tight with various daiwa and shimano spinning reels...even when tightened down as much as i dared, it left a 1/16" to 1/8" gap between the locking nut (...

Re: Ease my worries on the nrx dsr...

the 822S DSR was my first NRX spinning rod and the 852S JWR was my second. IMHO, there is definitely a time and place for both. when i go to lakes, the 822 DSR is the best dropshot rod i could hope for (and i've tried a lot) and has surprisingly good power below the tip. now, when i fish the califor...

Re: Have reel, need a rod

your lineup looks like it's missing a flipping stick. the XX flipping special is a nice rod as is the daiwa zillion flipping stick (i've had both). you could also use a finesse rod but you may wanna go with spinning gear for that.

Re: Daiwa casting reel foot size

at one time, i had a daiwa lexa casting reel and it's foot was larger than any of my others daiwas by 1.5mm in width (length was the same 62.5mm as all the others). it was also thicker and absolutely would not mount on my shimano cumaras but fit okay on all my rods with fuji ACS or ECS reel seats. i...

Re: New Zillion Rods

don't have the 7'MH but i had/have the previous & current 7'M and based on my experience, the new version is lighter, more sensitive and true to rating. the older version was heavier than rating by maybe 1/2 power. hope it helps my experience as well with several other models of the old and new zil...
