my favorite. It's my lightest cranker.would like to buy more.i still use a curado b 3.8 for the biggest cranks thoLucky1 wrote:ALthough I havent used it yet, I picked up a TDZ 103p for this purpose. I am interested to see what others would say about using this reel as a deep cranker. G

Re: Square bill
I haven't used those more expensive baits yet.i've destroyed/lost both bagleys and various plastics like ls rc's.i fish the missouri lakes and suggest basic shad, chart/dark back and some crawfish patterns.in clearer water a bluegill pattern.

Re: steez 103ha vs sol for casting 1/8oz-1/4oz
i've got a sol with the ize spool, ceramicspool bearings and a swept handle with bearing knobs.it will throw an 1/8 oz crappie jig with a crappie tube on the right rod.i don't fish it that way, and i doubt it would cast well against any kind of breeze. Sure. So can mine, whether the CF handle is on ...

Re: Need a new reel for Bass
you've gotten some good advice on reels but i have to disagree on the rod.i still use spinning tackle for bass/walleye/whites some of the time even tho i mostly bass fish.to me a mh is only good for deep cranks/jigs/worms-1/2 oz or more.for spinning i use a medium fast for 3/8 and 1/4 oz jigs/plasti...

Re: Hope the Daiwa boys are around
i use my alphas/sol/tdz-103 for the type of work you described.if i had the money i'd get the steez.i have a tdz-103ml type r that is probably my favorite reel.......maybe.

Re: Deep Crank specific reel
i vote cc.my zillion has taken it's beatings for two years and still works and feels great. One reel I like and I have read that it's too tech specific for most is the bantam B38. I have heard so much negativity about this reel, I may just be its last friend. I suggest you give one a try and form yo...

Re: Let's talk ZILLION
it's a great reel!yes it's heavy, same as my other workhorse reels.i haven't changed to any lighter parts but there are plenty of options.when i want to bomb a lure out there, like a rattletrap, this is my best reel and smoothest too.it's so great for pitching heavy baits i keep switching between the...

Re: RCSB 1012 spool
not necessarily.in general v works better with lighter baits and or pitching.z is better for heavier baits and distance.but all the other factors come into play so i wouldn't make a blanket statement about either one.i believe the 103 size reels usually are v and the 100's are z......my viento and z...

Re: oil plastic spool bushings?
it does look like that pic, and is just like my curado b except for color appearence wise.nothing on the reel, box or paperwork except ci200.it must be a b tho, since there was an earlier version.
thanks again.

Re: oil plastic spool bushings?
do you know if there was an original citica with no letter?he has the box and papers and it just says citica, so i'm guessing it's an original, not a b.just curious.i've used plenty of reels with bushings and always just oiled the shaft, but i was wondering what the correct procedure is.the paperwor...
