Re: Good split ring pliers
I keep the Texas tackle split ring pliers in the boat. But I keep my good ones(halco’s) at home when I’m changing out hooks on multiple baits and need better pliers.

Re: Line Diameter
I’m still trying to figure out why I would buy Seaguar’s new gold label leader line over their blue label which has been out for a few years. Seaguar claims it’s their thinnest leader to date but the diameters listed on the labels say otherwise. It’s even more spendy that’s for sure

Re: Expense and Certate LT
Thanks for the replies and yes I guess the term I’m looking for is the stem length before it curves back.

Expense and Certate LT
Narrowed down to these 2 reels however I am an ergonomic junkie so here’s my question as it will make my choice easier. I own both Daiwa and Shimano spinners however the wife usually ends up with the Shimano for this reason. The distance between the reel foot and where it makes its first curve back ...

Re: Dobyns Xtasy 754 Impressions
IMO I have both the 754 and 755 and definitely would move up to the 755 with jigs or anything 5/8oz. Or so and up. I’ve had both now for about a year and love em. To me me they cast like a fast action but load up a little slower and further down the blank as stated above. I have an original green 87...

Re: Rods with the 'it' Factor
I’m somewhat of an off shore fisherman so I’m using rods at 7’3” and above pretty exclusively. That being said that 902s conquest for my deep water Shakey heads is just a crazy rod. I use it on almost every trip

A marts reels
Saw some video footage of Arron’s reels most of them metaniums with what looks like over sized drag stars. They look to me like they would be easier to adjust on the fly than stock drag stars. I like everything about them except they are purple. Anyone know what aftermarket brand they are ?

Re: Opinions on best Dobyns rod for jigs
I have both Xtasy 754 and 755 great rods. Compared to my buddies 744 champ extreme just a bit more power from a 754 to the 744. I like the f7ll cork handle but I think it’s an option for the 744 as well.

Re: Light braid
I’m using the YGK G soul SS112. Absolutely the best braid I’ve ever used on a spinnng rod period and That includes Samurai. 16lb is perfect. Never had a wind knot and been using it for over a year now. Extremely smooth casting and do3snt have that wispy feel that I hate. No waxy feel at all.Only one...

New skin is what I use. If you don’t have that handy super glue works great but I’m not sure if it’s good to be puttin it on open cuts all the time but works in a pinch

Re: Lost fish therapy
After losing a big fish I always look up and thank the Father for the opportunity.....check my gear and hook closely, retie in most cases and make another cast. Always in that order and usually it pays off with a bigger opportunity later on. Maybe not that same day but most assuredly I’m afforded an...
