Try stripping some line off the reel?

Daiwa Pixy cast control cap
So a first for me, I managed to lose the cast control cap on my amber pixy. I got a replacement and threaded it on and got the reel dialed back. I have noticed that it appears the cast control cap is not threaded on very far and thinking this is how I came to lose the last one. The reel casts fine b...

Shimano Casitas 150
So here is my dilemma that i am hoping for some help on. I have this reel basically new with upgraded spool bearings. I have had it for years and just this year started really using it. In the reels range of weights it casts really good and to me palms about perfect. The downside is I keep throwing ...

Falcon Cara,Expert
Anyone with first hand experience with the newer expert or new cara rods. Especially the 68M in the expert and the 68MH in the cara line.
Thanks,

Re: Powell Max3D 725CB
I am legitimately color blind, or color impaired. To me that is purple but after looking very closely for way too long and under very good light at a dealer I agree that it is blue and not purple. I never doubted you, I know that I struggle with colors. No it`s not too garish, I am just old school i...

Greetings, I have this rod.... well I had this rod.. until it became a 2 piece. I really liked it for what I did with it but I need a replacement. Any suggestions on a different rod with the same specs/capabilities with a similar price point? They do make this in the endurance line but looking for a...

Re: GLX 802C JWR 1/8oz? BFS?
1/8oz plus plastic is the deal with the 802C. Old school SBR811 would be promising but far from NRX,GLX. Still not sure it would do it but would get you closer for sure.

Re: River Jig Rod
I cannot speak to the "new" glx rods but the older MBR rods I am familiar with. With that being said, if powers and tapers havent changed much between the "old" and the "new" MBR rods then I would steer clear of the 782 for the given application. My vote is 783 for what you are looking to do with it...

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
Majority of my bass fishing is with baitcasters but I have two spinning rod set ups and at least one always goes with me. NRX 852S/Sustain 2500 and my beloved BSR802GLX/ Pflueger something reel. As far as I am concerned that BSR802 GLX can be buried with me when I die.
Re: Ned Rod
3 inch dinger, 1/0 EWG hook , I couldn't even begin to count how many bass I have caught on that rig over the years.

Re: G. Loomis rods
I am in the fishing rod is a tool boat myself and never paid much attention to such things as guide wraps and such. I am a glx/nrx head and have never noticed anything way out of wack on any of the rods I own, maybe just lucky, dunno. However, at cadillac/sports car pricing in the world of fishing ro...

Re: rewrapping older rods with smaller/lighter guides?
I have had some of the older g.loomis rods re wrapped with smaller guides and was thrilled with the results. I never realized the effect a heavier guide has on a blank compared to a lighter guide. I went with semi micro guides and in some cases went with "lesser" grade guides and would do it all the...
Re: Nrx 853c?
No matter what, you are not going to hate the 853. If this will be your first NRX then you are in for a treat. The 853 isn't a bad rod, its just not as versatile as the 893 or 873. Power wise the 853 and 893 are about the same with the 873 being the next step up in power compared to the 853 and 893.
Re: Nrx 853c?
Having had both the 853 and 893 nrx rods my vote is one or the other. Both sticks have their merit but one doesn't really do much that the other cant do. They are different sticks but the length is really the biggest difference between the two rods. If I was wanting to mostly pitch/skip and sling a ...

Re: The most UNDER rated..
I will agree with the Kistler. I had one of the earlier versions of the zbone and that rod was a standout in the mix with some nrx rods. I got to handle a few of the H3 rods and was very impressed with what I felt for the given price point. Kistler just doesn't have any dealers where I am at, so nob...
