Re: Pflueger Supreme Spinning reel... Tackle Snob purchase

Does the line lay nicely onto the line roller? Also what is the drag rating on these reels? Any comments on drag performance? Thanks for the help I haven't spooled it up yet, had a busy week. Another observation on the reel just from a handling point of view: There seems to be more drag in the hand...

Nope, it has been treated for saltwater use. It also comes with a sticker to protect the reel foot from getting scratched when mounted in a rod.

Instructions say it needs to be washed n warm water after salt exposure.

Re: Dog Owners

We have a Golden Retriever named Sierra. She doesn't have the typical dopey Golden Personality, she is quite stubborn and likes to display her teeth if she is not happy. We know it is all show but strangers think she is possessed by the devil  She is terrified of other dogs because she thinks ...

Re: Pflueger Supreme Spinning reel... Tackle Snob purchase

The Pflueger Supreme is in da' house! Quick shipping, arrived sooner than I expected. I'm not going to get in-depth yet, not until I have a really close look and comparison with the reel, but for now, I'll offer this little tid-bit... I has THE BEST bail action of any spinning reel I've handled, at ...

Re: Anyone bought from Eastackle.com?

That's a killer price on a helluva reel...one of the smoothest/strongest/consistant/adjustable drags Daiwa has made in the last 15 years on any of their spinners. I hope for your sake that they are for real. I know it is a great reel, but I didn't order one. I have the Aegis which is essentially a ...

Re: Anyone bought from Eastackle.com?

The Daiwa Airity Tournament 1500 for under $250 caught my attention.

Re: OPUS-1, who has done a comparative review vs. Stella, Ex

I agree it is not as smooth as the Stella. Fishing with the Opus, Exist, and Stella made me realize once again just how smooth the Stella is. However, I do not see the Van Staal comparison so much. However, it is a helluva reel. It is up there performance wise with the big boys, though a tad heavy....

Re: Opus-1 went for a grand on ebay

All that sale shows is the current hysteria of the reel and the "gotta have it before my buddies" attitude. I'm not saying it isn't a great reel and worth the money (I don't know), but who knows for sure?? They haven't been out long enough to test longevity, and there haven't been any in-depth revie...

Re: My Father's Tacklebox

Thanks for your condolences, and please accept mine also. It is never easy to watch someone slip away from us. It was a long and hard fight for my father too. Prostate Cancer. I still talk to him every day.

Like this one?... D.A.M. 331

Re: My Father's Tacklebox

I'm facing that issue right now. I lost my father in November, and I have all of his stuff sitting in the garage. I haven't had the strength to go through it all yet. He fished very differently from me also. He would use the oldest $25 reels and an ugly stick, and fish with old big cork floats that ...

Re: Anyone else into watches?

I'd like to hear or see more about this seiko, as there are not too many Kinetics that go for that kind of money. Guess it's time for me to buy a digital camera. So reluctant to give up my 35 mm stuff. Anyway: The Seiko watch. I really am no watch expert but if you have Seikos than you probably alr...

Thanks for the translation. In this case the watch is a limited edition 735/999 named after the AN-225 Mriya, the worlds largest aircraft (at the time).

Re: Anyone else into watches?

In my younger, pre-married, pre-fatherhood , and richer days (I make more money now but it's funny how marriage and fatherhood makes you poorer ;) )I was into watches and I bought a Rolex GMT-Master 2. From the little research I've done, it looks like its worth more now then when I originally bough...
