I've only used 10# Super Natural and it is on a reel that doesn't see a lot of use. I did have 8# P-Line CX break on me down in the spool. I assumed it was from backlashing. Quite possible from kinking (a crimp?). Was when I was learning to use a baitcast reel. Can't say if they would perform better...
Great info eveyone. The Light and Tough looks really interesting. I really like the OG Tatula rods but I have to get a Tat CT CS or Morethan PE to match. Don't know why Daiwa does not match their reels to their rods. I've always been curious about the current gen Mojo rods but know know anything ab...
So over 100 views and only one reply? Wow. Doesn't anyone have anything bad to say about this reel, other than the price for an extra spool is way too much. I went ahead and used this little pearl white reel and so far I like it. Very smooth and quiet. Anti-reverse works good, bail opens and closes...
Is the SS/SV 105 much different than the 103??? I actually really like my SS/SV103, it is a 7.1, use it for light cranking and jerkbaits with 12lb fluorocarbon. Only issue is that it doesn't long cast as well as I would like. I also would rather it have brass gears. I have seen the SS/SV105 on sale...
I've noticed a lot of reels coming used from Japan look like hammered sh*t. Yeah. Picked up my last TD-Z 105H from Japan. The part below the line guide had almost all the finish peeled off. Sent it to Ian before using, He said it was dry inside. Still looks kind of bad from the front, but casts lik...
I have no experience with the Trion spinning reel. However, I have seen a few comments on it. All were good. I get the impression from what I have read that they are very good reels at their price point. Go ahead and use it. Then give a review on it. You may help out a few others. Not everyone fishe...

I have only the TD-X 103P and the TD-Z 103 I believe. By my own admission I am a late bloomer but The tdx can throw a shad rap size 7 a good ways. its so smooth and i guess thats what gets me. I doesnt have the original spool but a Steez 103sha spool and a 100mm handle and Type R drag star with bea...

If I read the OP's post correctly, he stated Abus were garbage in the title just to get your attention. The post itself said they felt cheaper than Shimano or Daiwa, but didn't call them garbage. I've used an STX Gen1 quite a bit and feel it is a fine reel. Many thought the Gen2 Premier was the best...

Thanks for the link. Lots of reel specifications there, but spool size wasn't one of them. I knew my Airy Red didn't come with the correct spool. I asked Ian about it and he said he didn't notice a difference between the Pixy spools (when casting). Therefore I decided not to try and find the correct...
Love all my reel  Can't say which one my favor...For now it's Presso with shallow spool 8-) MGL,Steez16,Z-pride,Zill PE 7.9,LIN...CC51 and couple more  ,-some another day another reel will be more favorite... I prefer LP. My cheapest round reels aren't all that smooth or refined, but are excellent casters even in strong winds. The Morrums are nicer...and I like their build quality, but I don't think they can cast into a strong wind quite as well as the Black Max 1600C cheapies. Maybe the Morrums just nee...
