Thanks. I've always admired your amazing rod work. Mostly my own reels but I do take on the occasional paint project.

Megabass Camo Project Reel (New Part 2 Added)

Finally got time to finish a project reel. Started out as a cosmetically rough Megabass IS63 from Teal101. A whole bunch of hours in prep work later and the fun part/paint started. House of Kolor flakes and pearls added to custom colour paint mixes on each layer. Really pleased with how it turned ou...

i'll have one waiting for me when i get home :D :D :D CAN'T WAIT!!
Can't wait to see what you think of it. I am really liking it.

I find the 80mm stock handle and new knobs awesome. Super grippy. I swap out almost all handles on reels but I am going to leave the Steez SV TW stock.

It very well could. I may have mixed them up.

I'm not too worried about the plastic. It can be replaced easily if needed but I'm sure its engineered really well.

Re: Steez SV TW 1016SH

That's a great looking reel! Do you know how it compares in size to the new zillion? Also, how does the retrieve feel compared to the previous steez? In the video Daiwa said this steez gears are made of G1 aluminum, a first for any Daiwa reel. Wondering if there's a discernible difference in the wa...

Re: Steez SV TW 1016SH

Early update: I only have a few hours on the water with it so far but the frame shape is my favourite feature of the new Steez SV TW so far. Insanely comfortable to me. Like a TDZ but improved. Knobs are also very grippy and comfortable. Very controlled casting reel as well. I tried very hard to pus...

Re: Steez SV TW 1016SH

Forget the TW, that orange Steez though... It's like treys lambo zillion Thanks. Not sure how long I can keep the stock grey paint on the new SV TW As for the questions about the spool - yes other 34mm Daiwa spools swap in. I am going to get some time casting it with a few different spools tomorrow...

In my opinion yes. Thinner thumb frame area. Very ergonomic feel to me. Another look:

Steez SV TW 1016SH

The new Steez SV TW 1016SH arrived today. Early impressions are positive. It is very comfortable to palm, the frame shape feels great in hand - early days yet but feels much like the loved TDZ in hand. I would say the smoothness is on par with the stock Megabass IS and older tuned Steezes (I don't h...

Re: Aftermarket Spools for a Gen 1 Certate 2500 (2004-2009)

This site lists most RCS spools and reels that they fit: http://daiwafishing.com.au/productcategory/rcs-real-custom-system/ I had an RCS 2506 on a 2013 2500 Certate and believe it would fit the older Certate as well although I'm not 100%. Samuraitackle also lists the new RCS Air 2056 spool as a fit ...
