Re: Daiwa's Magforce brake impeded by the earth's gravity?

I called up Marty McFly, and he brought Doc Brown over for a consult on this. Doc said the 1.21 jiggawatts generated by the cast was negated by the Earth's downward gravitational pull on the lure. As he was blasting off Back to the Future in the DeLorean, he shouted "Great Scott!! Just go fishing!!!"

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

Well I guess the reaming is almost over.................I might have to buy a MGXtreme 2 on eBay. Get a JDM LV7. Smaller reel, and better overall for light baits. Been watching this thread. The LV7 looks just like an ALX or Mgxtreme. You're saying it's smaller, so apparently you've held both and ca...

Re: 13 Fishing Concept Z

The part I'm confused about is if has zero bearings but then they have developed special polymer bearings, is it a zero bearing reel or a different bearing reel? Either way it's good to see some changes in reel tech and I'm curious to learn more about it.

Re: Pinnacle Rods

I have Perfecta 7ft heavy casting rod i won in a drawing on another forum. These rods are very well built and extremely light. AS light and well balanced as some 6 and half footers I own. Guide wraps are clean, no overuns on the glue. Quality cork on the handle. If not for the ACS handle, I would bu...

Re: New Pflueger casting reels

Just watched the video on Tacklewarehouse.com, the palming plate stays attached when making brake adjustments but swivels in the front of the reel instead of the back like Shimano. Looks like nice reels.

Re: Which casting reel should i get?

Out of the ones listed that I have, I would rule out the Serrrano if you're looking at casting lighter lures. With heavier lures, it's great, but anything under 3/8 oz, not so much. The cent. brake dial configuration is 2-4-6-8. Two is not enough for me and 4 is almost to much. Like you I find the L...

Have you tried cleaning the brake ring, then put a VERY light bit of oil on it.

Re: Daiwa's "New Species"

I may be wrong but if you look where the crankshaft exits the side of the reel and the hole in the gear, the gear would be protruding out the front of the reel when lined up and assembled. If not, the rest of the parts must be in another reel, like a side car on a motorcycle :laugh1: .

Re: Okuma Helios air (finess bait caster?)

I just saw a picture of okuma's new bait caster, the Helios air, over on ultimate bass.com. It is 5.7 ounces, but what really intrigued me is that the spool looks super shallow, a lot like a revo LTX spool. Does anybody know if this is supposed to be a finess reel or am I just seeing something wron...

Re: Bass Pro reel trade in.

Wonder why they have Shimano & Diawa reps manning the reel counter? Sure looked like I could have bought another Ci4 or a Cor or a Steez. Didn't see a thing about them being excluded. :-k SHIMANO IS PARTICIPATING THIS YEAR... This from working the show all weekend.. ;) Yep. I used my trade-in on a ...
