Just watched the video on Tacklewarehouse.com, the palming plate stays attached when making brake adjustments but swivels in the front of the reel instead of the back like Shimano. Looks like nice reels.

Out of the ones listed that I have, I would rule out the Serrrano if you're looking at casting lighter lures. With heavier lures, it's great, but anything under 3/8 oz, not so much. Have you tried cleaning the brake ring, then put a VERY light bit of oil on it.

I may be wrong but if you look where the crankshaft exits the side of the reel and the hole in the gear, the gear would be protruding out the front of the reel when lined up and assembled. If not, the rest of the parts must be in another reel, like a side car on a motorcycle .
