Re: What would you use each rod for?

The Dobyns Champion 734 C is an excellent paddletail rod.

Re: Rod for submerged grass

A power plant lake near me gets thick with milfoil. The Dobyns DX 745 is nice for pitching 1/2 oz jigs, but if the grass gets really thick I prefer the DX795 Flip. Has some tip to it for pitching but can be used for light punching when the grass gets really thick. A great heavy duty all around rod f...

Re: Concept Z initial impressions. Did I expect too much?

I swapped out the czb bearing at the base of the handle shaft where it meets the frame. And the play I had whined about like a "britney spears fan who got grounded and can't go to the concert" in the handle has been diminished noticeable. As in no longer there. Which is exactly what I had...

Doubt it. State record for a black crappie here is 4 lb 8 oz. According to her dad's Facebook post, hers was 4 lbs even.

Maybe not a record, but that would be a decent size for a bass let alone a crappie.

Re: Screwdriver for Daiwa reel screws

As long as you know what you are doing and are not careless, you should be good. Been doing this a long time. + 1 techniques and care over cost of overpriced screwdrivers. Its when you open reels and the screws are 'factory' stripped - what does one do... Some assembly line workers have really bad ...

Re: What’s your Finesse spinning rod?

My finesse spinning rods are a Megabass X4 Hyena F1-70X4S, Megabass Phase III Aaron Martens Limited and Gloomis NRX 842 S SJR.
If you want a slightly stouter rod for t-rigs and finesse jigs the Gloomis GLX or NRX 802S or St Croix Legend Tournament Bass 6'8" M XF are good choices.

There are a lot of nice rods and reels in this thread. Whether here or in separate threads, I enjoyed viewing them.

You guys make me feel a lot better about my own habit  I am in the process of making the long overdue "master list" of all my gear, some for insurance bt mostly so I can keep track of my reels, I am modifying most of them and I cannot keep track of what bearings/misc parts are in wha...

Re: Favorite paddletails?

My favorite paddletail is the Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper. My favorite swim jig is 4 x 4 Brandon McMillan Signature Series Swim Jig. If i'm going finesse I like the Pepper Custom Baits Micro Jig with a Lunker City Swimming Ribster. Recently tried the Kietech Swing Impact Fat. Really like them...

Re: The Ugly Ducklings

The reels are awesome. But between the monsters on the reels and the bright colors your going to scare the fish.
I like the reel with the scull on it.
