Just received my DRX 725C @ 40% off. Didn't get from Sportsmans Outfitters but put it on backorder during the sale.

Re: New Rod to go with new reel

Been close on that rod a few times but could never tell how ML it is?? All their rods seem super powerful. Still want one tho! Seems to have a soft tip with a decent backbone. Was casting a 1/8 oz flick shake jig and worm in the back yard, then put a gambler sweebo 6.5" worm on it. Will be fishing ...

LED Desk Lamp for working on reels.

Got tired of working on my reels without enough light, so I bought this at the Home Depot today. Very nice, compact, 6 levels of light and 5 color temperature light settings. https://i.imgur.com/uOUCE2I.jpg https://www.homedepot.com/p/Adesso-25-in-Black-and-Silver-LED-Desk-Lamp-with-Color-Temperatur...

Try leaving you tool box drawer open in Iraq and letting that hot sun bake those tools. Ouch. To learn to close/cover real quick.
Yeah, when I was in the Army at Ft Irwin CA. Working in the desert in the mid day sun, I'd wear gloves to keep from getting burnt hands.

Ask them to ship DHL, won't be held up like Japan Post EMS will. There is the 6.0:1 Twin Power 2500SHG or the 6.4:1 C3000XG.

Yes I still have it. Only had it out once with no bites because the water was cold and muddy. Don't have enough time fishing with it to give feedback.

Re: SIP Project : DSR820S GLX Rebuild

Turned out pretty good for a first time. Never did like all that cork in front of the locknut on the gloomis rods.

Re: Another New Reel

NICE!!! Was this converted to the mag brake system? I always thought the AirD's were centrifugal braking.. This is a Sol with Aird Side plates and handle. All the internal parts were transferred over. But if it were an Aird reel, yes the brakes in the sideplate would have to be converted to mag bra...

Re: Daiwa Sol for BFS?

Hi Everyone, It's been a long time since I've ventured into freshwater gear. I've been on a major SW fishing bender here in SoCal, so even though I've updated all of my SW gear, I'm still rocking my Chronarch D's, Calcutta Te DCs, Conquests, and Sols for FW. BFS especially is a whole new world for ...
