Re: Bad tackle thread (what to avoid)
This is actually a good thread, and giving good experience on products where some have good luck and others bad luck. 1. Strike king 6Xds lately have been complete junk for me. Sink right out the pack or have rusty split rings within a days use and hooks which to me is a deal breaker. Some i couldn’...

Re: St Croix rod for Punching and A-Rigs
That should be able to do both as long as your a-rig isn’t extremely heavy in weight. I also use that exact same rod length and power for my 1/2 oz and up swim baits with a jig head and the same with the scrounger and jerky j

Will The Current Zillion Be Discounted?
Seen that the new zillion is out, which the new zillion looks slick really love the looks of it. You think that they will discount the older model or no? Seen Digitaka has zero of the old model and they want Covid prices on ebay for used ones lol thinking about getting two too start with.

Re: Budget Sweet Spot... Casting Reels
I didn’t select anything because there in American so pretty much double that for Canadian dollars lol. Reels now are good quality across the board anymore but 250 to 300 is a good choice with a few in the 400 range. But like cal said manufacturers are making it harder because there a lot closer in ...

Re: Rods you bought for one technique that you weren't thrilled with initially ...
Mine would have to be the whole Diawa Light & Tough series love the rods but all of them were soft including the flipping rod. The 6’6 heavy worm and jig could only find a use for cranks like 2.5 and bigger spinnerbaits, chatterbaits also

Re: Braided line bad for your rods and reels?
9e6Running straight braid shouldn't be a issue what so ever. now saying I know when spiderwire or fireline I cant remember which one first came out it was grooving guides on rods like 20 years or more ago. I think you're remembering Stren Kevlar braid, which quickly was taken off the market for tha...

Re: New 2020 Shimano Metanium
This reel is going to be dynamite for sure. I didn't see any problems with casting on the bantam mgl what so ever. I just wish they would make the handle lengths all the same size though for every gear ratio.

Re: Point Blank rods?
Power Tackle is building there new line on them the Pow-R point line and by the far the best blanks i have used in a while. They where light and well balanced. According to their website they are using a blank specially designed by Fuji. Yes there are as well too which is another great option as we...
