Tatula Hate vs newer shimanos

Do Shimano guys get frustrated that they use similar frames for all their reels? Or is it just Tatula guys that were once Zillion variant, Red Fuego, Steez, Sol/Alphas, Pixy fans. I get that the frame styles and the (uggghhh... ) name, Tatula, leave something to be desired, but as a Daiwa fan...

Re: Frog and Punch rod suggestions

Look at the new Irod Croaker Crusher 784 rated to 3/8 - 3oz. I haven't punched with it, but so far it is a beast of a frog rod and I like it a lot. I have also punched with my Irod Genesis 2 754, but not my first choice for punching.

Re: Sunline Super Natural

In my humble opinion... 3) Moderately disappointed or 4) Monumentally pissed off Now, in Super Natural defense there isn't anything 'bad' about it. But comparing it to Defier isn't fair. They're on a different level. Defier you fish until you know you shouldn't and then you swap. Super Natural you ...

Don't own either, but back in the day the Sahara was hard to beat. I assume it still is. I have a buddy that swears by the Pfleuger Supreme's. He fishes them hard, but takes good care of them. Has some over 7 years old and still butter smooth.

Re: What are You PUNCHING with?

Two rods that I use are a 7’3” omen heavy. The heavier weights used when punching works with the omen. I also use a 7’ heavy irod air when sensitivity is needed. Step your punch game with IROD to the Genesis 2 Bub's Punch Rod or the new Air Bub's Air Punch (my next rod purchase). You won't be disap...

Re: Single hook VS Treble hook

I've been wanting to make the switch myself. Never been sure which sizes to get though because I don't want to ruin the action of the bait. I see size 1 for baits like the 110 and size 2 for smaller baits? If anyone could confirm that would be awesome. Thanks in advance! Same here. Looking forward ...

Re: Most specific chatterbait rod

The NFC MB807 Blank is an awesome chatterbait blank. Btw, I'm using the iRod Genesis II 723C, the stone cold swim and vibrating jig rod. Amazing rod for chatterbaits, at least for my style. I went through a couple of higher end rods ($300-400) before this rod replaced them. I'm using the same rod. ...

Re: Isn't it crazy that some Daiwa platforms are almost 20y old and still in production?

I don't want no stinkin finesse CT frame for my Zillion. [-( I'll take a brass geared Steez A as a Zillion though. Just axe the Steez A and throw a brass main gear in it for $300 as a Zillion with better knobs already. I love Daiwa, but they don't listen to us. Nothing they have done in the last 10...

Re: Favorite EWG Flipping Hook

I use the 7/0 Trokar Big Nasty with the 4.5" Yum Christie Critter and other larger thick body baits like Zoom Mag lizards. I feel like a wide gap hook of the same size doesn't hook up as well as a standard offset worm hook, so I upsize when using wide gap hooks. X2 when fishing in heavy cover. Othe...

Re: High end frog rod: heavy-ish surface veg

I use the 7'5 Irod Air. Love it for all things frog. Run through some pretty heavy mats and slop with no issues. Handle is a touch longer than some like, I know my father in law modified his from a local rod builder and now it fits him perfectly.
