Re: It’s 2018, why are you buying reels from the past

I feel that rods have made some major performance advancements. In regards to reels, nothing new really impresses me. The T3 was pretty bad imo, I didn't like the high profile of the t wing. The only reel that offered something new to me was the Alderbaran BFS XG, because of it's casting capabilitie...

X2 my thoughts exactly. That color is stunning, especially with the classic cork.

Re: Your 3 go to/favorite baits, and three you hate?

I just don't get the finess thing. I would rather fish all day for one big bite. If you would fish it enough, you might just get that one big bite. I've thrown just about everything, and my two biggest smallies have come on finesse. 5.13 6.04 My biggest spotted came on a NED rig, on a Destroyer Hed...

Oh nice to know you actually use it to toss 1oz jigs too! Thanks for the quick and short reply.

Re: What happen to the Z hype?

Fish the Z2020 & you'll know why people want a Z1016 8-) Ehh, ~~. Z2020 is a very good non-bass reel but a forced square peg bass reel. It's a bit big and heavy for standard duty applications, but when it comes to swimbaits there isn't a better lowpro out there. X2 And an awesome A rig reel as ...

Re: Your 3 go to/favorite baits, and three you hate?

Love: Trig Jerkbait Frog Trig will work when/where a jig won't. My mb68xti Diablo and vision 110's are unexplainably perfect for one another. Frog blow ups in the slop are tough to beat. Hate: chatterbaits Drop shot Ned rigs Chatterbaits are pike magnets. Drop shots catch too many 6" bass. Eve...

Dx795, you want the extra length. I use mine for 1oz jigs, paired with a Zillion Type R, 65lb braid.

Re: Kastking braid

The 9 strand Super kast Kastking braid is softer and smoother stuff, while the original Super power version is rougher and stiffer. It comes down to personal preference.
Great line for the price.

Re: Where can I find yokes for old Daiwa?

Try PLAT, they have access to a lot of parts. Thanks, they do have the part. What should I expect ordering from Plat? Extra shipping charges and a long wait? Do they offer reduced shipping rates if I spend over a certain amount? Honestly can't remember, it's been a while. Their shipping is pretty q...
