Im in line with david above.Tried several Daiwas started on the light end noticed the tip on the heavy side.Wound up with a Zillion 50th could not be happier..Hope this helps.

Never really scoped mine out i guess.caught about three boat fulls of bass over the last several years before i noticed half the guides on one rod are wrapped strait then the other half is wrapped probably a 1/16th of an inch off.not going to mess with the JUJU this 893 has.

To answer your question direct.The reel/pole setup need to be balanced(lightweight does not hurt either) the Smoothest Winding and Casting you can afford,also if needed a long distance bomber.Crainkbait fishing (for me) is a lot of casting and winding that will wear you out in a hurry if yor not dia...

For me the 893 is my favorite out of the group.Magic tip plenty of backbone,light as a feather and the sensitivity is off the charts.
I have found1/4-3/8oz with trailer to be the sweet spot.I have tried several others for open water applications but have settled on this one.Hope this helps.
