Re: TD Fuego Spools

A little late to the party, but I run an HLC spool currently. It is on a XX Braillist and does wonderful pitching and casting. Is there more than one HLC spool? Yup, there are two. One with dimples that is stock with the OG HLC reel and the I'ze Factory spool that is drilled. And they perform diffe...

Re: Megabass Python Rods

I have a WP slant bridge and the WP 2. While legendary for mag topwater and swimbaits, they also excel at big spinnerbaits, cranks of all depths (one of my faves for a 3/4oz squarebill), swim jigs and chatterbaits. If it moves horizontally and is 1/2 oz or over, a WP will work.

Re: must have megabass rods?

I love the Valdivia! It bombs frogs and the tip is very soft letting the fish get the bait before applying backbone. I also use it for jigs when braid is required. It is the only bass setup I run with braid. If it had FC on it, it would be a nice all purpose single hook stick. It pairs nicely with t...

Re: must have megabass rods?

The Carbon Head Hien. That stick is incredible.

I have been using the XX Braillist, Valdivia, Record Breaker and Levante EMTF. The Valdivia is a baaaaad dude.

Re: Ultimate Drop Shot set up

Excluding customs...

Casting - X4 Hedgehog (stinger tip) with Alphas Finesse special

Spinning - old Daiwa Cielo with the Ti tip. That tip is special and wonderful for drop-shot.
Runner up - XX stinger tip with Ignis 2505

Always run straight FC...no braid.

Re: Good jerkbait that’s better than a 110 or pointer?

Honestly, i would stick with those baits and work on presentation, color selection and depth selection. You may want to vary size also. Pause time, jerk rate and depth afffect the bite more than anything.

Agree on the HLC spool if you are going for pure distance. The original dimpled spool is faster and wilder than the IZE spool.

Best rod tubes for travel

Hi all,

Looking for input on the best rod tube for transporting rods for travel. The tube would have to be handled by the airline, so it makes me nervous. Any insight is appreciated.
