Re: Daiwa Ballistic EX 2000 Spinning Reel?
I've always liked Daiwa spinning reels and did look at the Ballistic back in the spring. I like it. I haven't seen the new version yet but I will tell you I opted for the Cabelas Verano spinning reel. It is their version of the Ballistic. I fished with it all season and very happy with it. I bought ...

Re: Another New Crucial question
I have no idea if the previous generation Crucial 6'10" was known for breaking but I'd go out on a limb and say you just had the misfortune to get 2 bad ones back to back. Very well could be wrong on this point though. As for the new rod, in my opinion, it will fish spinnerbaits just fine. I'd most...

Re: Another New Crucial question
I contacted Shimano today and ask them to send me a 6'10". It is on backorder but I won't be fishing for a while anyway. The only decision was full or split grip. I said whatever they had first.

Re: Son wants a low profile casting reel
Whenever anyone asks me what would be your first baitcaster, I think about overruns. Therefore I always recommend Shimano with the 6 pin centrifugal brake. I would either get a Curado 51E or Chronarch 51E. I never have to thumb the spool when I set the brakes and cast control knob properly.

Another New Crucial question
I had 2 of the 6'10" Crucial spinnerbait rods and both rods broke. The first one on the first day I had it and the second one a month later. Was wondering if they had problems with this rod. These are the black foam grips. So, Shimano is replacing it and my question is, will the new Crucial 6'10" be...

Best day Fishing!
I spent a week at Lakeside motel and Cabins in East Winthrop Maine on Lake Cobbosseecontee from the 14th -21st. As most of you know the BBC has rallies and the Northern Rally is at this place in June and they started a Mini Rally in Sept. So, on Sat the 20th we had a small T with 7 boats. It was nas...

Re: 13 Fishing Concept A reel
I did take the braid off and put mono on it. It performs better with the mono. Still haven't been out with it enough.

13 Fishing Concept A reel
Received my 13 Fishing Concept A reel today. I got the 6.6 gears. Right out of the box the free spool is incredible. Spooled it up and put it on my GLX 803C split grip with a jig. First impressions are excellent. Spooled it with 30 lb braid and set the brake on 3. It casts great without thumbing the...

Which Loomis rod? Need advice!
In the hot deals is Joes Sporting goods with 30% off rods until today. I need a spinning rod and trying to decide between the GL2 802S, the Mossyback BCR 802, or the Classic SJR 782 IMX. The prices are not a concern. I will be throwing a weightless Senko 75% of the time. I will also use it for tubes...
