I had that reel for many years! It was great!

That's the one! Legend in my book - long retired but a permanent fixture in the tackle collection

Re: Evergreen GT2RS-C71MH Super Stallion

PM replied - hope this helps with your buying decision. For what it's worth I have really enjoyed fishing this rod this past few weeks. If you're an EG fan, you won't be disappointed.

EG GT2 RS x ZPRIDE 17 FMT

Yo! Been far too long since I've procured anything TT worthy. I just couldn't resist these offerings and found the pair to be quite a match. In my experience with some of these JDM rods with a wide spectrum, they tend to suit the low/mid range of their rating best for my fishing preferences. Of the ...

Re: Roboworms no longer catches fish in socal

That's a bold statement. There's a degree of accuracy here since robos have been heavily fished over the past few years. However, there's still lakes and areas of the river that are productive with robos in both San Diego and the greater LA/S CA region.

Re: My first Otterod

I am really liking this stick. In a time where the majority of rods are starting to swing to the split grip, fancy locking foregrip devices, etc. this is a breath of fresh air. Very clean styling and choice of components and perfectly executed by Matt - well done!

Just fyi, I believe Avail did make a spool for the pixy at one point. You may be able to find it on one of the Japanese auction sites.

Re: Who's throwing big worms?

Been throwing 9-10" hand poured worms pretty consistently and they will work from shallow to deep presentations. I've been using the lightest possible tungsten weights and the smallest hooks I can get away with to leave as much action in the worm as possible. It's not like a stick bait or a cre...

Re: Need some Shimano Metanium DC and DC7 feedback

To echo the importance of what was being said above, the two biggest factors to consider are weight of the reel and what you'll be throwing. My Antares DC7 was bar none the smoothest reel I've owned, but I was not a fan of such a heavy reel. It was also not at home with sub 1/2oz baits, so depending...
