Re: 1oz spinnerbaits

it is no problem using heavy spinner baits shallow. I use 3/4, 1, 1 1/2 oz. right on the bank along any steep rock shore or shallow weed choked bank. I try to match the hatch, with Blue Gill or Orange Crush. I try to target the huge bass staging in the grassmats. I flip n pitch right to the edge, us...

Re: D&M piranha swim jig vs gar swim jig

Hi Dale: What do you mean by fishing it doing a crank set? Do you mean fishing it like a crank bait? Thanks You could do the same with crank baits, spinner baits even swim jigs. No, the crank set I am referring to is when you change the speed of your retrieve by giving the reel handle a very fast f...

Re: D&M piranha swim jig vs gar swim jig

I have watched this post for several weeks now. Just to see what fishermen know about these vibrating jigs. I can tell you that the "Gar" was designed to have a greater searching action when no trailer is needed. It has a very tight vibration, that makes it even more weedless. it can be fished in al...

Re: Unpainted vs painted jig heads

This is what you can do to paint your jigs that have weedguards in them. Go to the hobby store and get you some straws in sizes that fit over the weedguard. You might cut them shorter at a slight angle. this will help them sit over guard better. Then , just paint away. Remove straw just before the p...

Re: Best punch bait?

I dare anyone to find a better one than the......Havoc Slop Craw. Just started using it and I love it already. No more readjusting after EVERY punch and it doesn't need a straight shank hook with a keeper! How can it get any better than that?! =D> When I see someone say, "I just started using it" H...

Re: spinnerbait for clear lakes?

My home lake is very clear, and it's well known that a single colorado with white head and white skirt kills them. 1/2 oz, but has to be colorado and white. Next time you fish ultra clear waters? Try getting a few custom spinner baits in much heavier heads. But have double # 4 willows or 3.5 & # 4 ...

Re: LIFE CYCLE OF A JIG

I have designed jigs for many years, and this is what everyone has strived to do. With all the new mold designers and the spin cast molds, it is so much easier than 20 years ago. You can make just about any shape with single and double weedguards. I always consider the hook and how weedless the jig ...
