Re: Sometimes what your looking for, you already have

Over the winter and a lot reading. I was looking for an Ito spool to put in a TDZ. While cleaning up some stuff, happen to look through my reel boxes. And, what do you know, my past self had bought my future self an Ito spool! Plus some extra goodies.

Re: Sealed cork handles. What product?

Will U-40 prevent the cork fillings from falling out? I just bought an Orochi XX and it sure does have a lot of fillings in it. Clear plastidip sounds like a good idea but is that stuff durable enough? Yes. I been using it for years and it does hold it all together.. Just use a thin paint sponge to...

Re: Okuma guide series surf rod ?

I'm no saltwater expert myself but do enjoy the occasional surf fishing while on vacation. From searching and reading saltwater forums and personal experience, any rod can be used to fish the surf. As long as you rinse your rod and reel with freshwater, after your day of fishing. I've taken salmon s...

Re: New Zillion Rods

I'd have to say I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum with the new Zillions. I really don't like the new look. I think it's the lock nut that throws me off, the carbon ring just looks too bulky. I the rod does seem much lighter in hand. The tip is much softer than the old Zillion, with plenty of b...

Re: Rod Handles: Split Grip or Full Grip?

I like split grip on my casting rods with full reel seat. But prefer a full grip on spinning rods.

=D> Really like that carbon insert!

Does it get slippery when it's wet? no pun intended.

Caldia line roller bearing question

So I bought a bearing to replace the bushing in the line roller. Replaced bushing and screwed bail arm back in place. Then took a small section of fishing line to run it across the line roller to see if it rotates and it doesn't even move! I tried loosening the screw and still nothing. What gives?! ...

Re: XH swimbait rods: Crucial vs. Okuma

I've fished with both and prefer the Crucial. I've only been tossing 8" spros and less with it and it handled them very well with plenty of backbone.

As for the Okuma XH, it's just a real broom stick. The stiffness takes a toll on distance for tossing the big baits.

Lamiglas G1000 fly rod

Does anyone have any experience with Lamiglas fly rods?

I'm still pretty much a newbie to fly fishing.
