Re: Favorite Rattle Traps

I have a lifetime supply of XCalibur One Knockers & rattlers stashed but have had good success on Yo-Zuri’s 3D Vibe series. Very well made baits with acceptable stock hooks but more importantly they get bit.

Re: Supertuning expectations

While I agree with the above responses, I still feel the drag can be significantly improved in just about any reel regardless of pedigree or price paid. Reference the tutorial linked below for the whys and hows ...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Found a few of these on the second day of 100* air temps, oddly enough on a 1/4 oz XCalibur rattlebait. I spent hours throwing jigs and worms into shaded pockets without so much as a peck. Average size of 16" and roughly 3 lbs. Water was bathtub warm with zero movement @ 11:30 am. The 10" crappie wa...

Re: Ned head shattered my Expride...

It died honorably in the line of duty, no shame there. Yeah it sucks, but better it go that way rather than spend it’s days as a shelf queen that never saw action. The fishing gods require tribute occasionally [-X

Lake fork baby shad. Those have been my go to tiny plastic for a long time.
Still have a few of the ones you had sent me. Great little baits.

Re: Broken rod and rehab ...

Well, it was a noble effort but unfortunately didn't end well. It broke last night on the second fish. I was throwing a balsa Bagley Honey B. Caught the first fish (a small 1 lb bass), all went well and I was thinking to myself "Huh, I might have pulled this off" ... Hooked up with another fish, got...

Re: Does anyone recognize this micro soft plastic?

Looks like a Lake Fork Boot Tail Baby Shad with a bit of the head cut off. Could be something different that I'm not familiar with though if it wasn't cut off at the head, as the LF Boot Tail Baby Shad is 2.25" long; kinda looks like it could have been that long based on your pic though. Regardless...

Re: Broken rod and rehab ...

Update - It's been over 24 hours since I applied the epoxy, everything is cured now. I put the rod together, tied on a crankbait and pulled on it hard to simulate the same strain and arc that a fish would put on it during a fight. It held fine, and the rod maintained it's smooth arc even through the...

Bug A Salt

Pump action shotgun that shoots ordinary table salt. It's a fly killing machine. Saw one for the first time last summer at a family reunion, had so much fun with it I immediately ordered one when we got home  I have the Lawn and Garden 2.0 https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41hnwb...

Broken rod and rehab ...

Went on our annual camping trip at the end of May, when we arrived and unpacked I discovered my Kuying Teton had broken approximately 12" from the tip. This is the two piece TTC662L light power casting rod I have my Tsurinoya XF 50 BFS reel mounted to.The tip section is hollow on these. To say I was...

Re: Let's see that backlash!

https://i.postimg.cc/vB2Qqdxr/IMG-1242.jpg This one had a happy ending. Spent a nice Sunday morning on the front porch enjoying my tea and embarking on a temporary odyssey of insanity. I actually had to do it to two rigs, this one being the worst. I'll do this for braid, mono I would have cut off c...

Re: Square Bill

The thin bills are .75 mm thick, the thick ones are 1.5 mm. The Lexan sheets were 12” X 12” which were the smallest ones available.
