Re: My UL Spybait Challenge

It's been a while, what are your thoughts on the inline single hooks ?

I for one like them in certain applications and will continue using them.

Re: My UL Spybait Challenge

Dumb question, do the props spin on the vertical fall or only on the steady retrieve ?

Those toothy ones can steal rare baits. ;)

I hope to find more of them when the weather cools ... it's very hot here now, not used to seeing them when the water is this warm. But I suppose they need to eat so they do what they need to do 8-)

Re: These are a blast ...

Very beautiful fish! Stunning colors. I love fishing for European perch. Perch are perhaps the closest we get to LM bass here in Northern EU. Also, techniques suited for bass work great for perch too. They can achieve a decent size with my PB approx. 4 lbs. Always fun to catch. A 4 lb yellow perch ...

Re: Daiwa’s latest LT spinning reels

Why on earth would you need all of that line on a reel ? ... two football fields of line to cast a 1/32 - 1/16 oz bait 25' ](*,)

I'd say 500. Pflueger one of the few (not counting JDM) still making a truly UL sized reel.

Re: Good Small to Micro Cranks

This one I have says something about a casting transfer system on it, but when you shake it there isn't a sound. I'm gonna go back and grab a few more. Never tried ANY of Yo-Zuri's larger lures either, might go for some of them too. I didn't realize they were associated with Duel lures. Same compan...

Re: Good Small to Micro Cranks

I still have one of the Norman Baby Deep Little N... they are awesome little baits, but need smaller hooks for the fish I am after. Actually, I don't know if I did it or not, but the ones I own have seemingly WAY to big of hooks. They probably came with the big trebles. After Rick Clunn won a tourn...

Re: Good Small to Micro Cranks

For stream trout, I second uljersey's endorsement of Pin's Minnow and the HD trout lures. Oddly (?) enough I've taken several large rainbows and brookies on the Flicker Shad ... they absolutely slammed it. Part of the beauty of ultralight ... you never know what's going to take the bait, but it lit...

Re: Good Small to Micro Cranks

The possibilities are endless, and price has zero to do with how well a particular bait will get bit. Most out of the box will need hooks upgraded, but beyond that just jump in and give all of them a shot. These are a few that are in my current rotation, it constantly changes ... Poppers, Rapala Fat...
