Re: After 10 years in a kayak ...

But I'm having a hard time believing it's the most stable for some reason. I guess stability is subjective, no real way to quantify it. It comes down to your particular level of coordination I guess. I too was tentative while still in my research phase, it was my chance meeting with another angler ...

Re: AliExpress

Rods I've received from Kuying have always been shipped well packed and arrived w/o any damage. Tsurinoya has not been as diligent in their packing and I received a damaged rod from them. Fortunately, they did make good with a replacement. I've probably purchased around 10 rods from Aliexpress and ...

Re: AliExpress

My one rod purchasing experience through them was very positive - http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=79755 Unfortunately the tip broke (my fault), I just ordered another one. We'll see how this one comes packed, I'll update upon receipt. Order for Kuying rod from the Kuying store via Al...

Re: Isn't it crazy that some Daiwa platforms are almost 20y old and still in production?

on the spinning side, the SS whiskers (the black and gold ones) are still in production and I believe are unchanged since the mid to late 80s. thats almost 40 years now. There’s obviously still a big enough market for that reel to justify continued production. It’s in a class all it’s own when it c...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

This is the best fish I've caught this year. I usually get one close to or at double-digits each year, but I have no complaints! I lost one on a jig last week around the same size, and was thinking I might bot even get over the 5# hump this year. She was just under 7lbs on a Lucky Craft Bevy shad 2...

Re: BFS Lure Testing

Well done =D> Spoons are on the short list of baits I need to explore. I really strayed from UL/BFS quite a bit this year as I concentrated on chasing big bass and getting my new canoe dialed in. Threads like this give me the incentive to get back to it.

Flea market find ...

Poking around the local flea market this morning and happened upon this Shimano Sedona 500FD. Aside from normal boat rash and wear marks, it's 100% intact, spins 360, has a working anti reverse switch and by all accounts is fully functional. While I'm not a Shimano guy by any stretch, I couldn't pas...

Re: $100.00 BFS Challenge

I am looking into the spool for the Spirit Fox. I wonder if it is the same size as the XF 50. The XF is 12.5gr and the Spirit Fox is 9.5gr.............3gr difference is huge and puts the spool in close proximity with the big guns.......if not exactly the same as most. Looks like I'm out another $14...

Re: $100.00 BFS Challenge

In addition to having the regular single rod option, they offer a combo (complete rod with an extra tip) for roughly the extra cost of the tip itself. * I may as well go this route as I have a perfectly fine main section in need of a tip. I don't really need two like rods, then again I have no need ...

Re: $100.00 BFS Challenge

Looks like I'm gonna bite the bullet and get another Kuying Teton L to replace the one I had that the tip section broke and my repair attempt had failed. As much as I looked and looked, there's not really another rod like it at it's price point that can match the quality/performance. You should be ...

Re: 1-3g hard baits

Funny you mentioned those old Yo-Zuri baits with the articulated tails. The Wally Worlds in my region all have Yo-Zuri/Duel dump boxes on the bottom shelf. They're a mixture of salt & fresh water baits. I've been grabbing these when I can find them (selection varies by store, never know what you'll...
