Re: Creature Fever : Big Bite Bait's Hybrid Soft Plastic Craw Tube

Looks like the Larew tubes of the late '90s-early 2000s.

Re: Souped Up : Aftermarket Bolt-On Reel Handles from Gomexus

Great review. I have been stocking their products for the past few months as part of my reel repair business in Australia. Must say the people at Gomexus are great to deal with and very helpful and also very open to criticism where its due. I have converted all but one of my reels to Gomexus handle...

Re: A Stick Without A Name : Megabass's VKC-78H-4

Cal,
Back when two piece rod that had their extensions slip back into the butt section first came out, I used a felt marker to put alignment lines on the rod's two parts, to make it easier to keep them straight when I pulled them out to fish. It worked for years.

Re: Set to Destroy! Okuma’s Hakai Might Just Change How You View the Brand’s Baitcasters Entirely

Hi Mark, Good question, and I'll go back and add this in when I have a chance to shoot some images. The handle knobs are relatively smooth but they do not have bearings, and rely on bushings only. Z Thanks for the quick reply. Do you know if any aftermarket handles with bearings fit these reels?

Do the handle knobs have bearings? My arthritic hands really love knobs with bearings, especially for moving baits.

The bait's shape reminds me of the original Speed Trap.

Cal,
What is the difference in action and sound between the square and V groove jointing?
in this bait, not much difference in action, but the flat joint knocked a little more loudly.
Thanks. I was hoping there was a difference.

That's one ugly reel.
I'm sure it will look beautiful with a 10 lber on the end of its line. ;)

Handle, knobs and some more bearings added. I don’t think going from normal to micro gear would add weight.
Where did they add the bearings? Does the handle have bearings now?

Re: PB Rat Lights It Up With a Little Slosh and a Lot of Boils

For years I have made my own two piece rat wake baits, and I've found that using a lighter wire hook, like a #1 or #2 KVD EWG treble, helps with hookups because it penetrates deeper on the initial strike, and makes the baits harder to throw, since the barb is buried in the fish's jaw. The lighter wi...

Re: Easy Handling FINS WindTamer Braided Line

I also tried the 50# Windtamer. The diameter seemed small to me, too.
I put it on a spinnerbait setup. Once I got the spool tension right, it handled fine.
I think I'll switch it to a 1.5 squarebill crankbait setup, where the smaller diameter should help make longer casts easier.

Re: Round Reel Refinement - The JDM Daiwa Millionaire CT SV70

Every once in a while I go to TW website, open up the Shimano casting reels, and just drool over the 50. At 7.5 oz, I could easily fish it all day. It looks like a finely engineered machine. My birthday's coming up in August (hint, hint). I didn't think Shimano made a 50 Conquest any more, just the...
