Re: Hudd gill
The problem with the weedless huds and huds in general is a big lost fish ratio. Just the nature of the beast, hence why mike long and the big swimbait guys yank those fish in as fast as possible. Go fish shallow immediate post spawn with a swimbait and you'll be shocked at how many bites and follo...

Re: What size all-around line do you use for big baits?
30 lb however I look for smaller diameter 30 # ; ) Use it for 6" if I ever use 6" up to 10"+ 30 lb PF coploymer works great for top water , floats nice enough and I fish it as deep as 60' too
20lb cxx is about the same diameter as 30 PF I believe

Re: Top hook versus bottom hook on soft swimbaits: which is
Bottom hooks on soft baits can cause bleeding... even on a STE video with those bottom stingers he catches a nice one and at the end says... its bleeding.. NOT good. lets try to catch and keep alive . top hooks are best. only if you really care for your catch. hard baits most times don't get choked ...

Night time , Top or Deep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDeGxmVSIoc&feature=youtu.be But really a ton of things can work at night. Just like day. It's just better to get out at night in cooler air and out of the scorching sun. We hit to many days here over 100 degrees and day time is just to much. ...

Re: What a past four trips Trip one,
Agreed, so calm and collected with bunch of monsters. Wish I had access to water that held fish like that. 5-7lb is generally big enough for money here on weekends. Nice vid! And thanks for sharing! Mind sharing what you were using that day, rod, reel, lure, etc... When the reel seat came lose I wa...

Re: Swimbait line?
Anyone useing P Line PF ? It has a thin dia. compared to the CX or CXX. Along the lines of something like Sunline Supernatural but the PF is a co-poly. This is all I have used from the day it came out or close to that time lol. Almost every single big bass I set on comes up to or just under the sur...

Re: WHERE do you draw the swimbait line?
A swimbait to me is not so much the style of bait. To me it is a bait that catches Big fish and limits that we dream of or even better. When they came out they were to catch "trophy fish", period. To me once you get under 6" I would just use a Crank bait/ Jig or somthing like that because your targe...

Re: Suggestion for a "deep" swimbait
river2sea's bottom walker is a nice bait for fishing those depths w/ a mid sized Sbait, they come weedless or not, and you don't have to wait 5min for the bait to drop 15-20 ft  This is the most underated swimbait out there, I like the 6" size. Bought a few of the 8" , so far I have not had a...
