Re: Daiwa TD Advantage uses?

I have been wanting to add a new drag star to my Advantage but couldn't determine what would work. Now I know! Good looking BW!

Re: Daiwa TD Advantage uses?

I still use a 153HST. Makes a great small swimbait reel or deep cranking reel. At the time, I used them for most everything and they were great for spinner baits. But the heavy part was a downside.

Re: Daiwa Sol Upgrades question

That does look like a closer match. I'm perfectly happy with how my Sol turned out. There is a subtle difference, but there is enough of each color for it to work IMO.

Re: Daiwa Sol Upgrades question

Thanks for the compliments and all the help. Also, thanks to IlliniDawg for the handle hookup! A few slight differences in the two oranges and in the light and dark gunmetal but I think it turned out great! Ready to give it a go with SV spool! Glad you like it. I had been trying to figure out what ...

Re: Daiwa Sol Upgrades question

1. You won't have to bend the drag star much at all. Most swept handles have quite a bit of clearance. Do you have a particular one you are looking at? I will probably go with a stock Daiwa handle from the Zillion TWS. The gunmetal will match the color of the SV105 spool. I can upgrade to make it 4...

Daiwa Sol Upgrades question

I have a Daiwa Sol that I am going to be using on a cranking rod for throwing balsa crankbaits. What I'm looking at adding to the reel is a 90 MM swept handle and possibly some other options. My questions are 1. If I stick with the stock drag star and bend the tines, will I need to replace the cast ...

Daiwa Round Reel Questions

I'm looking at possibly swapping handles, drag stars, and cast control knobs on a few round reels and was wondering if anyone could tell me if the normal handles/drag stars/cast control caps will fit the Millionaire S and CVZ reels as well as the Lunas?

Rogue Question

For those of you who still use Smithwick Rogues, do you prefer the 5" Super Rogue or the 5 1/2" Limited Rogue?

New Shimano Compre

Has anyone fished with the new version of the Compres? I'm curious.

Re: Homemade crankbait

Big M's baits are top IMO. I've had good luck with Lazer Crankbaits from Ohio and Flat Shad lures as well.

John Mills (whittler) makes a great handmade bait as well but they're made of pvc.

I would go Falcon then Fenwick. I'd forget about the premier.

Re: FENWICK AETOS available on 8-7-12

I was afraid of that. I went away from Fenwick after the techna avs went away and may not be coming back.
