Re: Observations of Conquest 904c vs. NRX894c

It’s finally time here to go out deep with the 905s and 904s and I’m very interested to see how they are. I better not regret replacing my equivalent nrxs!

Re: BFSish GLoomis rod???

I’ve got a couple of the 842c and love them. I fish every finesse technique on these or an 852 nrx and don’t think you’d be disappointed in either. The 842 is a bit softer than the nrx. I also believe the handle on the conquest is about an inch longer than the nrx.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I would think 7’6 is a bit on the long side for working a topwater. I’d think an 843 would be more appropriate imho.

Re: Looking for some walkie talkies

36 mile plus range? If I'm reading your post correctly theres no walkie you're going to get that range out of. I have 45 watt motorola UHF mobile radios in my trucks and I don't get that kind of range in a rural setting. To do it "legal" you'd need an fcc license for a business band walkie...

Re: Roboworm Ned Worms

Yes the one I put in the sink to look at had been fished with so I would think most of the salt had been dissolved out. I guess I’ll keep them around based on what you guys are saying.

Roboworm Ned Worms

I was excited when I saw roboworm was coming out with their line of ned worms since I really liked their other products. Ordered up about 10 bags in both the large and small sizes to try out thinking I’d go to them over the zman. I don’t think that will be happening. First off the robos are huge com...

Re: Diawa Pixy/PX68 Alternative

You might look into the Shimano Aldebaran BFS. I had 3 PX type R Daiwas and after trying the BFS XG sold all the Daiwas. It casts the ned rigs amazing, as well or better than spinning IMHO.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

That’s good it’s stainless so it doesn’t corrode on you especially in saltwater.

I’m eager to fish the conquests, I have 2 905 and an 842, waiting on a 904 and probably another 842. Probably should try what I have first but I’m pretty sure I’ll like them.

Re: daiwa steez harrier stz 7011hfb-sv

I’m thinking that’s basically the Steez compile x 7’1” heavy that’s been available domestically here for a few years now. There’s a review on it in the archive. I had a few of them at one time but I’m down to one now. The overall opinion seemed to be that while very good looking and light the sensit...

Re: NRX 852c

I've got 3 of them with px-r reels and 8-12# line. One is rigged with a Ned, one with a drop shot and one with either a shaky head or split shot rig. It's possibly the most enjoyable nrx I have. I think they cast light lures 90% of people would usually use an eggbeater for just fine.

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?

Not sure where to start on this topic....I may possibly have the most fun with the 852c. Have three with px-r reels in them and are fun to finesse fish with. Shakey head, mojo rig and the Ned rig are the most commonly used. Just so much fun. The latest one, and I realize I'm late to the party, is th...

Re: Trying to not hate spinning gear...what NRX to buy?

I decided I needed to get into this spinning deal as well. Naturally a Stella with an 852s NRX was the only thing that would do. I may have used it briefly 5 times in the last year. For light stuff I always end up using my px-r NRX 852c combos. They work very well and the only thing the spinning out...

Re: NRX reel seat issue...

I had probably 4 NRX rods do that, it was an issue early on. I sent them all back and received new ones in return, I'm sure you won't have a problem.

Re: Too many choices.... which shimano?

I have some 13 metaniums and a new Mgl as well as a chronarch CI4 and I think the chronarch is very close in performance. If I was looking to save a little money over the metanium that's the route I'd go.

Re: Loomis NRX 895 balance

Did a comparison between the 894 and 895 as far as balance. With a metainium xg on each one, the 894 balanced at the nose of the loomis logo, the 895 balanced at the tail of the fish logo. I'm guessing that's around 3/4" of difference. The reels had no line on them btw.
