Re: Inshore Rod for Shimano Calcutta 200gt

I have an okuma Catalina MH that I use for Calicos off my kayak. I like the extra length at 8' it allows me to clear the nose of my yak if the fish hangs in the kelp.

Re: Tennessee Fishing

I recognize the bass and the white bass. What is the fish with the forked tail? I only fish salt water here in San Diego.

Re: goby baits in non great lakes waters?

I use them in San Diego bay. They work on all of the fish in this large body of saltwater, spotted bay bass, sand bass, halibut, croakers, bonita and the dreaded lizard fish.

Re: Enjoy saltwater game...

Double or triple surgeon depending on line weights. Holds great and is the easiest knot to tie. 8-)

Re: What would you fish from a Kayak?

Kayak rod choices are dependant on a few criteria. 1. Kayak length, will my rod allow me to play the fish if it decides to circle around the bow of my 'yak? On a very short 'yak 6'6" is ok. On a longer 'yak 7' to 7'6" would be better. You don't want to be cut off on your hull. 2. Will I need to stow...
