Re: high cost of tackle and the falling dollar?
I believe the main reason that rods and reels are getting more and more expensive is the consumers' willingness to pay for them in high prices. If we look at the reels out there, most reels cost more than 200 dollars are not dramatically better in performance than those under 100 dollars. The differ...

Re: Any problems with the Pflueger President Casting reel
I think it is a great reel, for the 2007 model. I had a Supreme model. It was very good. But the problem is that the company does not have the kind of customer service others do. They falsely advertised Supreme to have aluminum side plate (if you take a look at the box). I called the customer servic...

[quote="drinva"]None of my JM reels have "play" in the handle, never have had. I was told by BPS people that they have chan...

Re: BPS Johnny Morris baitcast reel
I really appreciate your replies to my post. I have heard so many people talking about the reliability of Shimano, Diawa, and Abu. I have several Shimano and Abu reels. So far I don't have a Diawa reel. The Shimanos are smooth. But the problem is that I see a lot of plastics in them. They look cheap...

Re: BPS Johnny Morris baitcast reel
Justin,
Thanks for replying to my post. TT does have a review of the reel. But it was for the Johnny Morris Elite model, not the one I have. It is a Johnny Morris model for 134.88 dollars. The elite one is in 200 dollars range. Thanks.

BPS Johnny Morris baitcast reel
Does anyone here have a Johnny Morris reel? I would like to know if it is reliable as BPS claims to be? How difficult it is to ge parts after five years. I have the silver one, not the elite version. The box says it has aluminum covers. I guess that means both side plates are made of aluminum. I bou...

[quote="kingsriverrat"]Anybody know anything about this operation? The paint jobs look great, but has anyone on the forum had experience with these lures? Or even ever heard of them, for that matter?

I am curious about the baitcaster on your picture. It looks like a great one. Could you tell me the brand and model.
Thanks

Re: Opinions on the new Ardent baitcaster
I will buy Ardent reels if they are as good as, and as cheap as, Shimano, Diawa, and Abu reels! Before that happens, I will not even consider Ardent reels, no matter where they are made.

Pflueger Supreme Baitcast Reel
I have been looking for a baitcast reel for a while. Recently I have set my eyes on a Pflueger Supreme baitcast reel. It is in the right size. Looks great. It has a break system that I like. However, I have no idea of its drag pressure, its durability, and its problem free record. Does anyone here h...

Re: Casting Distance (reels, methods, and conditions)
Ultralight, You are very good with knowing people. I did find a lot of things about casting. I practiced with spin cast reel too. It is good for 6 lb. line. It will take a long time to lay out what I found out about casting for distance. Many people here have pointed out that this is a really big to...

Re: Casting Distance (reels, methods, and conditions)
I do practicing casting for accuracy. Because I don't fish from a boat, distance is important to me. I practice for long distance casting with accuracy. I believe one needs to practice both. I know people with boat don't have to worry much about the distance. It is easy to get close to a spot. Actua...

Casting Distance (reels, methods, and conditions)
I would like to ask everyone here the intricate question of how to cast for a long distance. I know the answer to this question involves many things, especially the reels we use, the ways to cast, and the win condition. For the past few years, I have been experimenting with all kinds of reels and me...
