Re: The Tackle Doctor: How to Add a Bait Holder to Any Hook

At risk of showing the density of my head, could you add some pictures of some plastics rigged on a hook with that keeper added? I'm pretty sure I get it, but have never really used straight shank hooks with keepers so want to be sure.

Re: small round baitcast

Of course you could go retro and get something like these. You'd have to learn to cast and fight a fish using your thumb, rather than having the reel do it for you. These reels are lighter than any round reel made. http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/k526/PCW77/Reels/LangleyPair-2PB.jpg They are La...

Re: Favorite 2 piece blanks?

Any thoughts on the NFC two-piece rods? Haven't used any yet. But if they're as nice as the 1-piece, you'll be happy. Actually...I did do a prototype rod for a guy looking to make a production line from a big Mooching blank. That was as nice as any 2-piece I've used. Was it intended for mooching, o...

Re: Vagabond Abu Ambassadeur Drag stars

I'm not sure of any US dealers for their reel parts, but BassPond might be able to help you out and i know they ship to the US.

Vagabond also has some contact information on their US page, they might be able to direct you to some US dealers.

Re: Fenwick elite tech smallmouth

Yeah, thats what I figured. I tend to prefer an XF for my creek fishing because the tip loads faster with the sometimes restricted casting quarters, but counter-intuitively I also like a little extra length for the extra distance. Unfortunately I know none of the shops around me will carry these so ...

Re: Fenwick elite tech smallmouth

Nice, thanks. Might have a hard time choosing between the 69M-XF and the 610M-F casting rods. I'm curious why the M-XF is only rated down to 3/8...

Here are a couple links to some testing by one of my favorite bloggers (hey, gotta stick with my fellow Hoosiers, right? :D ) on the Nanofil line: http://www.bigindianabass.com/big_indiana_bass/2011/06/nanofil-line-review.html http://www.bigindianabass.com/big_indiana_bass/2011/06/crappie-nanofil-up...

I wish I could get my hands on that DVD, but I'm too cheap to pay $50 + international shipping for it

Re: I'm pretty sure Fluorocarbon is BS...

Fluorocarbon feels low stretch because when it stretches it deforms much more than mono. Mono is more elastic and returns close to its original length after being stretched. Fluoro deforms when stretched and does not return to its original length. Once the fluoro is stretched and deformed initially,...

Well, when you put it that way, it does make more sense :D Wasn't trying to razz on you or anything, I was just confused by the way you phrased it.
