Re: Co-Polymer for Topwater?
If you're looking for a copoly that is pretty buoyant try Izorline platinum. I use the 12 pound for Steelhead float fishing and it stays at or very near the surface no matter how much line I've got out. very limp with good knot strength too.

Re: Lamiglas XMG LC 862
If you go to the blank section on the Lamiglas web site they have a pdf file showing which of their blanks are used in which of their rods. there is also a pdf file with the recommended guide spacing for each of their blanks.

Re: Drag on baitcast vs. spinning
My main concern on a 3000 sized spinning reel for fish like a steelhead or chinook would be line capacity dragon, this was my concern with my original response to using them for large Salmon. because of all the snags and structure in our local rivers braid is generally only used when float fishing....

Re: Drag on baitcast vs. spinning
If I had a choice between a high-grade 3000 sized spinning reel vs a "300" sized high-grade FW BC; and I had a hard, long and fast running anadromous like a 40lb + king on my line...I would most likely choose the spinner. Personally, I'd take the baitcaster over the spinner in that scenario every t...

Re: Shimano Calcutta DC...Is it really worth the money?
I have the Antares DC7 loaded with 12# P Line CXX mounted on a Lamiglas TBC86MT drift rod. with the reel set in M mode (L on a Calais) and the switch in positions 2-3 I can throw 1/4 ounce without any problems at all.

Antares - Calais DC noise
I just received my Antares DC7 LV yesterday and noticed a very, very light "ticking" (for lack of a better word) coming from the hatch side of the reel when cranking, you almost have to have your ear on the sideplate to hear it. the spool spins forever and I feel no feedback through the handle when ...
