Re: Huddleston 6inch vs 68 spl

I, like most people, have always felt like the regular 6" is a little too subtle. I have caught fish on the 6", but I have never crushed them like I do with the 8". You can tell by the big success of the 68 that it is most likely a better all around bait than the 6". We throw the 68 a lot during th...

Re: What size replacement gear for RC STX

#2 Owner Hyper Wire Split Rings and #6 Gamakatsu Round Bends for me. Three of each! 8-) I tried this and they slowly sink. Mine didn't sink, but water temp does make a difference. I'll admit, I fish 110s a lot more; and I use the same split ring/hook setup for them. The RC STX is a great bait thoug...

Re: s-glass jerkbait rods

In my opinion, glass rods are better for moving baits. Baits you mainly work with the reel. Crankbaits especially. You'll kill yourself trying to work a jerkbait with a glass rod. Takes way too much work. A graphite crankin' rod is ideal, once you get used to the feel. Graphite rods will work too, b...

Re: Frog Reel help

Based on all of the other replies, I expect my recommendation to get thrown out the window; but here we go anyway :D . It's not the slickest reel out there or lightest; but it's BOMB PROOF! It's also not the most compact.................but it's BOMB PROOF! Get a Daiwa Advantage HSTA. I've owned 4 o...

Re: Berkley 90's Plastic - Name?

This might jog your memory a bit. I'm not sure I remember the exact name, but it was called "Carolina" something. I think Carolina Slug. I have 3 of them left. Not 3 packs, 3 baits. LOL It is about 6" long, kind of flat/slug shaped, ribs on the back, keel shape on the belly; and the tail is similar ...

Re: Moreau topwaters

I personally haven't fished many of their smaller baits, but I will say this. Their Walking Bluegill, Mouse, Walking Rat, 5" Swimming Bluegill, 8.5" Premium Bass, and 10" Trout; have ALL caught me fish and many of them. Some of the baits I listed are no longer made. They're legit baits, fish well; a...

Re: techniques and know-how

What is the absolute best way for me to learn almost everything there is to know about bass fishing? No one knows everything about bass fishing and no one ever will. It changes every day. The best in the World are still learning. Time on the water is definitely the best way to learn. Reading and wa...

Re: Punch Skirt

The punch skirt makes the whole rig more weedless. It does depend on what type of grass you're fishing. Baits come through some types of grass cleaner than others. With the punch skirts, I have to pick grass off of my baits less; which means my bait is in the water more. Also, I can fish it in more ...

Re: Best flipping jigs

I feel like i shouldnt be throwing anything under 1/2 oz weight... let me know! Use whatever weight will get down through the cover and to the fish. Most important thing. Sometimes a heavier jig will get more bites, because of the fast drop, but in general, if a lighter jig will get down; use it. A...

Re: Beginner Jerkbait

IMO Jerkbaits are some of the easier baits to fish and one of the best at loading the boat quick; once you figure them out. When the bite's good, there aren't many baits that can catch fish as fast as a jerkbait. I personally would recommend getting good baits right away; if you don't mind spending ...

Re: Black Dog Lunker Punker 8"

Your observations are correct about the baits; as far as how they compare. If you want pics, I could more easily text them to you. Feel free to PM me your number if you want. But yes, the injected is a little fatter. Some have rattles, some don't. Both were available at one time. The wooden ones don...
