Re: keitech 2.8 rigging

Off topic, but not. If anyone is looking for the best way I've found to store the Keitech packs, this is literally perfect. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Plano_W ... -PBWS.html

I like to keep them in their packs to avoid bent tails or bleeding.

Re: keitech 2.8 rigging

Get in touch with a custom guy. You can have whatever hooks you want. I get them by the 100's each year in different weights/hook sizes. Cheaper than the store jigheads as well.

Daiwa Exist

I think it's the 15-17 model, the one TW has on sale now. I'm seeing mixed information and was hoping someone could clear it up for me. Does it have a Zaion body or MG body? Looking for a new travel reel that will see some light salt and don't want to use my MG steez for that. Thanks

Re: Is a Stella worth it?

I've had two...I might be the only guy who doesn't like the feel. I liked the Stradic and Sustain, but not the Stella. If you want a high end reel that can go in salt as well, you might like it.

On the other hand, you'll have to pry my Steez 2500's from my cold dead fingers.

Re: Anyone here fish Walleye?

Walleye will crush the Keitechs, i prefer the fat swing impacts in 4-5 inches. Any 4-4.5" jerkbait will do as well, I've had good luck with LC, Luck-E- Strike Rick Clunn, and good ol' Rapala Coundowns, CD11. Grubs, any shakyhead type bait. They'll basically hit anything a bass will, you just have to...

Re: NRX 872s or GLX 892s

It's a matter of preference for me, as I don't like the reel seats on the GLXs. I have three NRX 852s and they are fantastic for anything in that weight range in both deep and shallow water. I'm going to add the 872s this year, as I don't see much of a difference in action from the 852, but I'd like...

Re: Show your 2 piece rod

Have a 2 piece NRX 822SYR that was cut/ferrulled by Mattman. Perfect travel rod for planes and keeping under the rear seat of the truck. Picked up a Loomis rod tube and sock for it, and you wouldn't know it wasn't offered/sold that way from Loomis.

Re: New member - Nrx 852

Agree with above. For a primary drop shot rod, the 822DSR is a great stick, and even the 822SYR is good. Both have softer actions. The 852 is my go-to rod. I don't drop shot nearly at all, but fish a ton of jigs and drag tubes. The rod has a really fast action with some serious backbone. Not the bes...

Re: steez 2508 vs.EX2508H

I have a few 2500s, and actually thought about upgrading one to an EX. That thought came and went. Weight savings alone isn't worth the insane price to me, and I can't see any amount of increased drag pressure or durability that might help out. The only positive would be the ability to use in bracki...

Re: Steez Rods - value at lower cost?

When they first came out, I had picked up the 7'MH, 7'1 Compile X and the Compile-X spinning stick. I loved the spinning stick, but wound up selling it and grabbing an NRX when they were released. I'm still looking for one for a steal. If I still fished casting gear more than once a year, I'd still ...

Re: Spinning reel capacity

I use backing on all my spinning reels unless I'm chasing steelies or salmon. Then it's filled to capacity with whatever line I chose for the application. A simple 6000 yard spool of BPS mono lasts a loooong time for backing.

Unless it's a cabela's brand rod, there's MUCH MUCH better places to buy rods, no sales tax and no shipping. Sorry, I don't have a coupon.
