Re: Lake Picachos in Mexico
I have been to El Salto 10+ times and Picachos two times. I have not been to Picachos since they built the pavilion though. In my experience, Picachos was a numbers game. Most of the fish I caught were in the 2-3lb range with a 5-6 showing up from time to time. If you go I would focus on baits that ...

Re: Favorite paddletails?
Keitech Fat Swing Impact. Once you see how slowly you can swim them and have the tail move the rest just don't cut it.

Re: Speed Clips
I've used the Norman speed clips for 10+ year and I have never lost a bait due to them.

Re: fishing plastic swimbaits and swimjigs
There is no right answer here, it just depends. I tend to find, as a very loose rule, swimbaits work better in clearer water. I feel they throw off a very different vibe to the fish so I will throw both around a see what they want. By tournament day I have one of them zeroed in. What I can say is I ...

Re: Thought on 10" Floating Triple Trout
I would strongly recommend the Southern Trout Eaters video as they cover this bait pretty well.

Re: Keitech problems
I fish the 3.8/4.8/5.8 Fat Swing Impact on either a Lake Fork Tackle swimbait hook or a J Will jig head. It is pretty rare when I notice much of a catch rate difference between the 3.8 and 4.8. The 4.8 tends to run deeper. I'd say 90% of the time I am fishing around hydrilla/Milfoil so it is the LFT...

Re: Keitech swimbaits
The only thing is that Swing Impacts are $7.50 for I believe 5 baits for the 4.8 size and that's pretty pricey for baits that rip after 1-2 fish. Have you tried the LFT swimbait hook? I put the Owner center pin keeper on it and they last a long time (4-5 fish being long). If you look at the LFT hoo...

Re: Braided Line Question
It isn't a misconception, it's a fact - - fish can be conditioned to avoid lures when they can see visible line attached to it. Fishing pressure teaches bass what to avoid. This isn't a rumor, it's been tested scientifically with conclusive results. Bass aren't emo.....as far as I have read, they d...

Re: REEL: Shimano Chronarch 50Mg ?
I've had one for about a year. I use it for light baits and I have it on a CBR781. It is excellent in that role for me. As for swimbaits, it depends. What swimbaits do you have in mind? I've thrown the Storm 3" Wildeye on it. I don't think it would have much of an issue with large baits on a big rod...
