Re: Shimano Poison Ultima Baitcasting 1610L-BFS
I've been looking at this rod as well. Does anyone know how this compares to Steez RD 631ML FB or the NRX 802C that I'm currently using for 1/8 - 3/16 jigs/tubes It's going to be lower in power than the NRX 802C, and I believe the 1610L would be too weak to handle a 3/16 jig or a normal 3.5" sized ...

Re: Daiwa SS Air TW
I'm really digging this reel. Today, I was on the river and fished with some medium sized jerkbaits with the reel. It casts more effortlessly vs the Steez CT. Just a flick of the wrist and the bait is sailing. It's very reminiscent of my 2016 Aldebaran BFS with the KTF spool. I have not tested how l...

Re: Daiwa SS Air TW
It's here! I'm planning on throwing on some 6 lb Gamma Edge or 8 lb Tatsu to start of with. Later on, I might switch over to braid. Can't wait to see how easy it is to cast.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
The river temps have been in the mid to high 50's Fahrenheit, and the brown trout activity has been solid. I'm hoping to have a couple more good weeks, before the summer water temps slow down the trout. Here's a 20" brown that I caught on Sunday. It gave a great fight and jumped out of the water a c...

Re: Honest opinions...is BFS really worth trying?
It's basically all I've fished with for practically 19 years. No spinning reels for me, except for my wife and kids. It's fun, addictive, and will always put a smile on your face. A light weight BFS rod and reel just feels stupid light in the hand. My buddy just broke down, and purchased an Alphas A...

Re: JDM Reel Inventory
The magnesium, brass and aluminum shortage (components), wiped out the high-end reel inventory. It's affecting several markets.

Re: Daiwa Alphas Sv TW 800s
After a spring/summer with the Alphas SV TW 800 and the KTF NEO deep spool w/ IXA micro brgs, and it's been a pleasure lobbing and pitching 3.5" tubes (1/8 oz weight) with 10 lb fluoro. I haven't tested to see if it could go as light as the Alphas CT with KTF spool, but the TW 800 does the job for p...

Re: What's your rod lineup for this year
What are you wanting to use either rod for? FWIW, I did forget a custom NFC LMX heavy power that's been cut down to ~ 6'9". [/quote] Yamaga Blue Current III - I was looking at the 53B or 69B for river trout fishing. I've seen their video on the 53B. I always wanted to get one of the Tiemco/Fenwick ...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
Was 5 for 6 today. We were only trolling with 6 rods, since there were only two of us. This was the biggest of a triple header, and we successfully got all three fish in (salmon & steelhead). The salmon are starting to stage in 120 ft of water and bulk up before going up the river. https://i.vgy.me/...
Re: Old Lures
A couple of weeks ago, my father and I lost our last Sutton Flutter Spoon to a large steelhead. It's a paper thin spoon that we use on a slider line (free floats on the downrigger rod - allows an extra lure on the same rod). I found out my dad was using 20 year old 20 lb Berkley Vanish for the leade...
