Jigs
Got another question, if you guys don't mind throwing more advice my way. Okay: For someone who knows next to nothing about jigs, how do you fish them? What's all this flipping/pitching business? You can tell me to flip them and pitch them, but I don't know what that means... I know what a "jig" its...

tips for fishing w/ spinnerbaits?
I've not had much luck catching bass except on soft plastics and topwater plugs. A lot of you talk about spinnerbaits, but I've never had much success with them. Now I have caught a few bass on rooster tails and beetle spins (before I discovered better things), but other than that, I've never seen a...

Re: Bedding Bluegill
yeah some people get silly with it. but one thing I definitely like about catch and release is that that it makes for larger fish later. this pond is overrun with carp though, so I don't wanna make it any easier for em.... I'd like to go out there with a .22 when they are up on the surface mating bu...

Re: Bedding Bluegill
I've read that they hang out in groups while bedding, so I wouldn't feel too bad about snatching a few up. If they were bedding, how would I know which ones to keep and which ones to release? Is it as simple as figuring out which ones are male and keeping them? I try to put back as many fish as I ca...

Bedding Bluegill
Yeah, so I was fishing yesterday and caught four large bluegill very easily...then I realized it was right next to a bed, because of the saucer-like indentation they were hanging around. I really like catching bluegill, not simply for fun (though it's very fun) but also because they're good eating. ...

Paddle Tail Worms
Hi, everyone. I got some paddle tail worms that are put out by Bass Pro, and I've heard several people raving about them. I've tried them but with very little success (I've been having success with regular senkos so I haven't been trying them for very long periods at a time). I don't know if anyone ...

Addicted to Wacky Rig
I've been having a lot more success just wacky rigging the ole senkos....the only downfall is that the worm doesn't last very long. What do you guys think is the most effective way to fish the senko?

Re: Catch and Release?
yeah, I've thrown many back that a lot of people I know would have kept too. There are a lot of smaller bass in the pond (which a lot of people would consider "keepers"), and if I catch one of them I almost always throw it back. One thing that does piss me off though is this family that goes out the...

Catch and Release?
It's funny how many people I've heard talking about catching and releasing lately. This evening I caught about a 14 or 15" largemouth...then I cleaned him up and salted him with some seasoning salt and some lemon pepper. After that I threw him on the grill and ate had him for supper. Boy it tasted g...

Problems with Spinnerbaits
I tried to use these spinnerbaits I got the other day, yet to no avail. Every time I cast it would without fail get some weeds caught in its blades so it wouldn't spin. It seems almost pointless to try and use spinnerbaits unless the water is cleaner, or maybe if you're fishing a river.... Anyone el...

finally found something that worked
I got these worms at Walmart, and they are basically senko rip-offs. They are called Wave Worms - 5" Tiki-Stick - Watermelon/Red Flake. I had originally set these aside because I was not having any luck with them. But I just got the urge today to go out there and Wacky Rig the suckers...and within 5...

how do you do when it's windy?
yeah, so the next couple of days I have off from work, but winds have been 13 miles per hour and greater here. is it even worth attempting to go fishing with conditions as they are?
