No, I did not handle that rod during our outing with Dobyns at Clear Lake.
Did you happen to handle any of the rods in the Dobyns swimbait line up?

Re: what is your confidence swimbait?

matt lures trout and triple trout. The hudd doesn't always do it... especially when they want a more active eratic presentation.

Re: Lucky Craft Real California Premium swimbait

Looks like they lost on the tail. A short stubby one would've been perfect... kinda breaks the look of a beat to heck freshly planted stocker trout the rest of the bait has

Re: Scents on Hard Plastic Swimbaits???

Smelly jelly stains soft baits for sure so be careful. I think in general scents will take a toll on a soft plastic baits finish...maybe a little plastic chamber you can embed into the belly that disperses scent would be good?

Re: Mg7 weird cranking feel???

Thanks for the responses guys, its probably just the light gears. The only thing I'm really wondering about is the spool ticking, when I spin it in freespool it ticks but only when going very fast. Same when I spin the handle (quickly) even with a tight drag. Hope there is no nick on it or anything ...

Mg7 weird cranking feel???

I don't know if this is how its supposed to be but it felt kinda funny, it was a shhhhhhhh kinda noise as I turned the handle. It very very subtle but also included an almost inaudible ttick tick tick if I cran...
